Circularity has become a central value and key development area for our brandsand business. In order to retain relevance with the consumer and grow the business in a world with constrained resources, new business models need to be developed. The Circular Business department grows business models focusedon extending the lifetime of materials and already madeproducts,onintensifying usage of products andother modelsthat are not built on the one-off sales of product made of virgin materials.We do everything we can to prevent Tommy Hilfiger products go to waste, giving consumers an opportunity to wear our products through other means that buying them new. The main focus of the department is the expansion of Tommy for Life, a platform forrenewed, remixed and recycled Tommy Hilfiger product, but other rental and repair models are soon to follow.

The Position

The Circular Business Lead Operations is responsible for strategically developing the operational frameworks for new circular business initiatives. Major focus will be on resale platform Tommy for Life, but you will also manage the operations of future rental and repair models. In this, you will work closely with various teams to build compliant and scalable circular processes in line with our systems set-up. Furthermore, you are responsible for the processes and building the infrastructure to identify and collect Tommy products from various sources that are eligible as input for the Tommy for Life program. Responsibilities are (partly) fluid and a high degree of collaboration, flexibility and agility is expected.

Key Responsibilities:
Supply operations
  • Oversee the sources of input streams for Tommy for Life and put in place (logistic) processes, procedures and cadence to ensure all input streams are handled correctly and delivered on a regular basis to our service provider(s).
  • Build and implement a strategy not only to maintain but also to increase the input streams to enable the scale-up of the Tommy for Life program. This includes identifying additional potential sources of products that are eligible for the program not only within the business, but also from external sources.
  • Maintain a clear and up to date overview and data analysis of all input streams for Tommy for Life and manage the outbound logistics to service provider(s).
  • Identify and manage source(s) of input streams for potential other circular business initiatives such as Rental and manage outbound logistics to service provider(s).
  • Set up and manage partnerships to ensure circular solutions for remaining waste streams (i.e. product we cannot sell, repair, redesign or recycle into fibers).


Processes & Systems:
  • Strategically support the Omnichannel Team to develop a (financially) compliant and scalable incentive solution to reward customers for participating in the trade-in program.
  • Lead the development and implementation of compliant and scalable processes to enable the further scaling of the Tommy for Life program in close collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g. legal, finance, VAT).
  • Oversee strategy development for in-housing and integration of circular services with other Tommy platforms in collaboration with Omnichannel-, Finance and IT departments.

Finance & Business Models
  • Own the financial administration of the Tommy for Life program to measure the commercial viability of the business model and iterate and continuously improve the business case.
  • Facilitate the expansion of potential future circular businesses initiatives (i.e. rental and repair) including the commercial validation of the business case by developing revenue and cost models.
  • Develop operational frameworks and organizational structures for new circular business initiatives and conduct assessments on internal and external capabilities and resources to scale effectively.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in circularity and/or supply operations and logistics and supporting IT systems in fashion or another FMCG environment
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience
  • Familiar with finance- and system processes, system thinking and process mapping
  • Sound project management- and business modelling skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Thrive in ambiguity andnot afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Data-driven, attention for detail and quick thinking
