The Junior RTW Designer will work closely with the Creative Director and RTW Design team to develop ideas and support the design and development of ready-to-wear collections. They will initiate design concepts reflective of the brand’s ethos and Creative Director’s vision, and liaise with the production team to support the development process through to the finished product. This is an exciting role and opportunity to be part of a creative and energetic environment where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with different departments and external partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Work on seasonal RTW collections and design products that reflect the Creative Director’s vision
- Assist in building RTW range plans
- Support the product development of RTW seasonal collections, working with the production team to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved
- Follow the critical path timetable for RTW collections closely, to ensure samples and products are delivered on time
- Research concepts, create sketches and prototypes throughout the concept development phase
- Liaise with suppliers to source fabric, yarn, trimmings and other components
- Create tech packs for sampling and production
- Assist with fit sessions and assessment samples to resolve any product development or quality issues
- Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners / suppliers
Skills and experience:
- 1+ years experience working in womenswear design
- Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent qualification in a related field
- Strong knowledge of women’s fashion and understanding of Rejina Pyo product
- Ability to contribute creative design ideas with a high level of skill in sketching, technical drawing and pattern cutting and draping
- Strong textile and technical knowledge of womenswear garments and ability to contribute solutions for finishes
- Has commercial acumen and is customer focused
- Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience presenting to senior team members
- Korean language desirable but not essential
