As a key member of the growing transactions partnerships team, you'll directly manage engagements with product platform partners, advancing our product over the long term and helping create advantage for our merchants. You'll also lead a team of other partnerships managers, working closely with them to grow their skills, confidence and ability and providing critical leadership feedback to do so.

You'll become an expert on Shopify's strategy, and align our goals with those of your partner. You'll need to be able to quickly create meaningful relationships both internally and externally, and ultimately, sign and manage impactful partnerships. You will be working on a variety of functions such as: product development, program management, operations, commercial and legal, engineering, business development, relationship management, partner enablement.

This is what you'll be doing day to day:
  • Support the strategic objectives and interests of Shopify's product teams on a global basis and further these objectives through partnershipPlay an influential leading role in the development of Shopify's tax, cross-border or localization platforms including but not limited to partner evaluation and selection, API services development scope, partner qualification program development, and ongoing scoping and prioritization of services to support partners and merchants.
  • Serve as partner advocate inside Shopify to drive requirements and product direction hand-in-hand with product and engineering teams to meet Shopify and partners' goals to successfully launch robust partner product platforms that serve many merchant segments.
  • Manage the integration of our strategic partners.
  • Gather partner feedback and requests, evaluate and work with product and eng to prioritize as needed.
  • Contribute to growing the partnership over time by nurturing a long-term relationship, fostering a deep understanding of partner objectives and values, and being laser-focused on KPIs
  • Develop infrastructure, operational efficiencies and continuous improvement for various projects
  • Work with partners to ideate on or explore product integrations and/or develop new business models, securing buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, internally and externally
  • Negotiate deals with one or more strategic partners both locally and globally
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that have high potential to drive new merchants to Shopify
  • Lead discussion amongst cross functional teams within Shopify including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Support, Legal, and Finance to execute on various opportunities that impact the success of merchants




Qualifications

  • Experience executing partnerships in the cross border/ tax industry
  • Experience negotiating deals in a complex, dynamic environment;
  • A broad understanding of the cross-border space and how Shopify can leverage the best in class solutions to grow the business
  • You have experience in product integrations, API's and the development and execution of strategic roadmaps.
  • You can effectively collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to drive partner API scope and development.
  • Experience building and implementing partnerships in the Fin-Tech, commerce industry
  • You have demonstrated experience working with a range of business units and internal stakeholders, including executives, marketing, product, engineering and design
  • You are a self-directed individual and being able to thrive on change and prioritize effectively
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, you are comfortable drafting documents internally and externally
  • A background in solution engineering or technical integration management would be useful
