About the Role

As a team member of the Pricing organization, we are looking for a Software Engineer who has the capability to lead a DevOps product team through the requirements gathering, design, development, deployment and support phases of a product. This role will design and develop highly scalable and high-performing technology solutions in an Agile work environment. This individual will work closely with business support teams and product managers to assist in resolving critical production issues and improve business processes through the latest in technology and automation.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with product management, technical management, and architecture in the design of software products.
  • Write well-written, self-documenting code that follows best practices and design patterns.
  • Gain an extensive understanding of key dependencies with external and internal teams to collaborate on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Design, implement and launch highly-visible features for our Pricing platform.
  • Partner with like-minded engineers in empowered and self-organized product teams.
  • Embrace and implement best-in-class DevOps practices with end-to-end "design, build and run" responsibilities with the aim of operating a low-touch Production environment, and mentor other developers in the team.
  • Practice relentless automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and support software in the Azure cloud that supports business needs.
  • Maximize system uptime / availability and ensuring functional & performance SLAs are met and establish end-to-end monitoring and alerting for various systems.
  • At Gap Inc., we are passionate about creating and delivering quality software by utilizing Agile and DevOps best practices. We are creating Cloud-based solutions using Automation, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration & Delivery, Pair Programming, and story-based iterative development.


Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience and 3+ years of software development experience
  • Proficient understanding of Java. Object-oriented design experience and Micro Services
  • Experience in Spring Boot frameworks and Azure Cloud.
  • Working Knowledge and experience on Azure Cloud Environment and Experience in tools such as Jenkins, Codefresh, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub.
  • Hands-on experience in the DevOps model, production support and Agile methodologies as well as understanding the concepts Test-Driven Development and Business-Driven Development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data which would be creating Dashboards, using tools like Splunk, new relic.
