Purpose of the role:

We are seeking an experienced individual with proven success in expanding a brand’s presence by creatively driving user-centric digital experience. The Creative Content Manager will lead the expansion of the brand’s social media presence and drive our digital media strategy to the next level through engaging, visual storytelling, innovative content creation, and social media management in order to increase user engagement. This role will oversee the department’s beginning-to-end content creation for all social media channels, website, email newsletters, digital ads, and blog. This role will work hand-in-hand with our Commercial team to ensure a strong strategy is created to build content that drives conversions, sales, and brand recognition while building community with our audiences. The Creative Content Manager reports directly to the Creative Director and the Commercial VP and will manage the Graphic Designer and Brand Communications Coordinator.

From ideation and concepting, through to photoshoot production, and ultimately asset creation the ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing a team to bring visions to life. This person can lead a graphic design team, and is able to jump in at different phases of the content creation life cycle such as design and layout, if needed. This individual will also oversee, and work closely with, with freelance photoshoot producers.

The Creative Content Manager is digitally-savvy and loves engaging in meaningful conversations spanning from the arts and fashion to world affairs and everything in between. They have a strong editorial eye and have the ability and skill to concept visual story telling within the Mara Hoffman brand aesthetic.  They understand the importance of knowing our audience, learning what resonates with them, and how to distill complex ideas into creative and compelling content. They are a forward thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Creative & Content

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Commercial VP to build a compelling digital and social media strategy that aligns with product launch schedules.
  • Oversee content creation and ensure on-brand storytelling and seamless execution are achieved
  • Develop content calendar to advance the company's digital presence based on marketing plans provided by Commerce team
  • Approve, and at times contribute to, copy needed for daily social media/digital content in order to build meaningful connections with community members. Copy will include email content, subject lines, homepage messages, blog and other platforms
  • Act as a brand ambassador to ensure consistent use of brand identity and messaging across company output
  • Use the the social data and metrics pulled by Brand Coordinator and work with the Commerce team to analyze and use this information to inform future strategy and practices
  • Ensure content needed for the social media strategy (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging platforms) is provided to Creative Director based on direction given by VP of Commerce
  • Manage department budget

Photoshoots & Production

  • Oversee photoshoot production and manage team of freelancers, while also jumping in whenever necessary, from start to finish
  • Identify interesting subjects, models, and talent for brand campaigns and story telling
  • Coordinate with Commercial VP on shot lists and content requirement docs for all editorial photo shoots to ensure content is allocated appropriately for digital outlet needs

Project Management

  • Build relationships with and act as liaison between the company and external photoshoot production teams & editorial freelancers
  • Create scope of work for freelance copy writers, asset re-touchers, and photoshoot production teams
  • Oversee all freelancers used for editorial content creation by providing detailed editing notes and direction

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience operating in a similar role within the fashion industry, managing content creation, social media, marketing, digital media and/or communications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and confidence in learning new programs
  • Graphic design skills are a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with good storytelling instincts
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • The ability to maintain brand voice
  • A proactive, highly organized, self-motivated work ethic, with a willingness to learn
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, patience, good judgment, and flexibility in their work
  • Commitment to the highest standards of integrity
  • Confidence to take initiative and make decisions proactively
  • Strong people skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to work well with others
  • Insights on the latest digital trends and best practices
  • Must work well under pressure both autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Experience crafting, packaging, and scheduling messages for all major social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc), with digital analytics tools a plus
