Job Details

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Design and Development team at CRAIG GREEN. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, organised and looking to develop their skills within a dynamic and fast-paced creative environment. The Atelier Manager will be responsible for delivering an on-time sampled range to a high quality and standard in line with budgets and sales campaign deadlines. Working alongside all functions including Pattern Cutters, Machinists, Garment Tech, Product and Design Developers throughout various stages of the process each season.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the development of the critical path and ensuring the Atelier delivers samples on time and to the highest standards and level of quality
  • Planning atelier workload in line with Design and Production schedules
  • Responsible for managing a small team of Pattern Cutters, Seamstresses and Cutters – both permanent and freelance – including task allocation and development
  • Working with junior members of the team, mentoring their professional growth
  • Manual pattern cutting, creation of accurate first patterns working from design inspiration and sketches
  • Responsible for each pattern, from first pattern taking this through from sampling to production sealing. Provide measurement charts for production
  • Ensuring that from toile stage, that pattern and toile are clearly marked with measurement spec for factory/seamstress launch
  • Close relationship with the product design and development team to enable to fix priorities on pattern flow and to ensure finishing's are applied to patterns
  • Liaising with model agencies to organise weekly fit meetings
  • Manage and maintain the block pattern library with the Garment Tech, ensuring it is up to date
  • Keeping Atelier budget up to date and flagging current spend when necessary
  • Participating in all design/development/salesman sample fittings, being on hand to attend in production fittings as necessary
  • Assist with fittings, record fit notes/photos, communicate pattern corrections to patternmakers and seamstresses
  • Support Design department with advice on best construction and finishing techniques
  • Development of showpieces - textiles, patterns, construction ideas
  • Ensure that all samples meet quality specifications and deadlines for shows and private clients
  • Work with development team and garment tech to simplify showpieces for commercialisation
  • Working with Head of Product, keeping up to date with scheduling, workflow, and budget
  • Archive photos, sketches and other elements of the design process
  • Assist during campaign shoots

 

Qualifications: 

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of all menswear categories, fitting and fit issues is essential
  • Good organizational skills and ability to plan, multi-task and work under pressure
  • Passionate about product design and development
  • Effective relationship management and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Highly results driven, forward thinking, can easily anticipate design needs for upcoming projects
  • Problem solver/solutions driven, Can-do attitude
