Job Overview:

The Fashion Director will work directly with Bloomingdale's Merchant, Marketing and Store Visual teams and external designers and vendors to identify and curate the most important fashion trends. The Fashion Director will be closely involved in many aspects of buying and merchandising. The Fashion Director has fashion credibility and curiosity, experience with product curation, and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships to effectively influence, drive and communicate Bloomingdale's fashion perspective.

Essential Functions:
  • Identify the upcoming important fashion trends, themes and key classifications to influence our product assortment. Shop new resources and competition on an ongoing basis to remain competitive
  • Work closely with merchants to review and edit merchandise buys
  • Partner with marketing and visual teams to inspire our marketing campaigns, visual presentations, and special events
  • Work with vendors to create and secure "100% Bloomingdales" merchandise programs in conjunction with current trends and campaigns at Bloomingdale's

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
