The Team

The Tax team is part of the finance team based at the HQ in Amsterdam. The team consists currently of 5 FTE's who are responsible for all tax related matters for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein in the EMEA territory, such as but not limited to corporate income tax, transfer pricing, wage tax and VAT/indirect tax. The tax team works closely together with other departments like HR, Treasury, Legal, Finance, Technology etc. and has a close relationship with the finance hubs in Belgium and Germany.

Wage Tax Manager position

The Wage Tax Manager will be part of the PVH European tax team and will report to the Transfer pricing / Tax Director. The tax team is advising on all tax matters of the group in Europe. The Wage Tax Manager is focused on the day-to-day wage tax management of the Dutch operations and collaborating up with the EMEA business on ensuring the company complies with tax legislation in the region.

The main tasks and responsibilities of the Wage Tax Manager will include:
  • Provide practical and technical tax (wage tax and social security) support and advise to the business in the Netherlands and throughout the EMEA territory;
  • Advising the business on various tax related issues including taxation of employee benefits;
  • Supports HR/payroll with tax advice and support, amongst others regarding global mobility of employees and work closely together with the tax team to reflect the related transfer pricing matters,
  • Maintain and evaluate on an ongoing basis the current tax control framework for wage tax;
  • Together with HR and Legal implement a remote working from abroad framework to ensure compliance with local and international tax and social security laws and regulations;
  • Coordinating the Dutch annual WKR filing;
  • Advise and support on international restructuring, planning and certain tax and finance projects;
  • Advise the business on procurement contracts with independent freelancers/contractors keeping a close eye on Wet DBA;
  • Works closely together with the with HR/payroll Department regarding communications with the Dutch tax authorities related to payroll aspects;
  • Support on statutory, internal and external wage tax audits in the EMEA territory;
  • Support HR and Legal with review and drafting of employment contracts, settlement agreements and any related documentation;
  • Understand and clarify local tax rules to generate best practices and guidelines;
  • Manage the relationships with the Dutch tax authorities based on the agreed upon the tax monitoring processes embedded in the tax control framework.

Your Profile
  • Master degree in tax law or economics
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience, preferably a tax consultancy firm combined with in-house experience;
  • Background in international tax with relevant good knowledge and working experience in the field of wage tax and international tax;
  • Ability to quickly analyze data, draw conclusions and make recommendations;
  • Able to establish and maintain excellent working relationship with all important internal (colleagues of the different HR, Finance, Tax and Legal Departments in Europe, Asia and the US) and external stakeholders (tax advisors and tax authorities);
  • Hands-on, pro-active and dedicated;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both verbal and written. German language skills are an asset.
