The Position

The Talent Development Manager Functional is responsible for leading the development of functional skills for targeted audiences, critical to the success of our business. The role reports into the Senior Manager Talent Development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and prioritizes Functional learning & development needs for targeted audiences, based on the outcomes of our Workforce Planning Process and in close collaboration with the HR Business Partners and business leads. Conducts learning needs analyses to determine the gap between the current and desired level of skills and competencies, in close collaboration with business leaders.
  • Provides frameworks for the design and development of functional skill building programs, based on adult learning insights and best practices ensuring learner engagement and knowledge transfer to the workplace.
  • Partners with colleagues, SMEs and stakeholders to co-design and implement digital/blended Functional development journeys while serving (future) business needs and team priorities.
  • (Co-) develops and curates blended content like (online) courses, videos, webinars and articles for Functional development needs.
  • Manages European functional development projects; builds project plans, leads project teams, manages stakeholders, drives change management and follows through till the delivery of the end product. Applies agile practices where relevant.
  • Supports the management of relevant external vendor partnerships, from sourcing to negotiation, commissioning, and ongoing relationship management • Evaluates, analyzes and reports on Talent Analytics to assess learning experience, evaluate business impact and suggest improvements.
  • Builds and manages strong relationships with stakeholders, assist in identifying risks that might occur in the implementation of a learning program/project plan and suggest approaches to mitigate risks.
  • Partners with the bigger Talent Development Team to support on projects in other development areas when time/capacity allows.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Master degree ideally in Psychology; Management; Business Administration; Educational Sciences: Organizational Sciences
  • Previous work experience is minimum of 7 years, of which minimum of 4 years in Talent Development
  • Has worked previously in an international matrix
  • Excellent project- and program management skills; able to oversee and drive multiple projects simultaneously
  • Brings applicable knowledge of (existing and new) Learning Platforms and other digital development tools
  • Able to successfully implement (existing and new) learning technologies in engaging, blended learning programs
  • Experience and ability to anticipate and manage change and recommend pragmatic solutions
  • Analytical skills and creative mindset to define out-of-the-box solutions
  • Used to an agile way of working, focusing on the needs of the end-consumer and using feedback loops to iterate the minimum valuable product. • Builds constructive relationships quickly - great stakeholder management skills
