INTRODUCTION

JOB PURPOSE

As a Responsibility Data Manager you will provide vital responsibility and sustainability insight with real-world impacts through data management, analysis and reporting.

The role entails strong stakeholder management internally and externally. Internally, you will be responsible for providing insightful sustainability-related analysis to inform business strategy, targets and future sustainability programmes, for example, scoping new initiatives such as Burberry's approach to internal carbon pricing.

You will be responsible for sustainability data management for Non-Financial Reporting requirements around carbon and energy, waste, water and product goals and supporting the modelling required for Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and CDP Climate Change reporting.

In terms of external stakeholders, you will be responsible for driving industry leading reporting for various submissions, such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and CDP.

Furthermore, you will ensure alignment with existing and emerging reporting standards and legislation such as the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the EU Taxonomy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and collate sustainability data across energy and carbon emissions, waste, water and 100% positive attributes.
  • Support the business analysis and modelling required to implement the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the CDP Climate Change submission.
  • Support the implementation of procedures, data collection, reporting and third-party assurance processes for Burberry's responsibility KPIs and Sustainability Bond.
  • Scope, develop and implement new sustainability initiatives such as Burberry's approach to internal carbon pricing and associated Regeneration Fund.
  • Identify ways to enhance Burberry's sustainability data collection and reporting.
  • Ensure Burberry's external reporting evolves and aligns with existing and emerging sustainability-related legislation, such as the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the EU Taxonomy.
  • Establish processes and work with internal teams to achieve best practice in sustainability disclosures and internal governance.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Advanced command of Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong business analysis and modelling capabilities.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to synthesise information into a concise set of insights, highlighting business strategy implications.
  • Analysis and reporting experience related to the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures is desirable.
  • Knowledge of internal and external audit processes, and ability to produce procedures, maintain systems and data collection for external assurance purposes.
  • Exposure to large MNCs, potentially in a consulting or assurance capacity.
  • Knowledge and exposure to reporting initiatives such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), CDP, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainalytics and MSCI are desirable.
  • Highly organised, with a diligent and detail oriented approach.
  • Great team player.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of building rapport across all levels.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong interest and experience within sustainability.
