INTRODUCTION

Founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, Burberry is a global luxury brand with a distinctly British attitude. We are a global business with an extensive network of both owned and franchised stores across EMEIA, Asia Pacific and Americas. We are digital pioneers, and innovative technology underpins every aspect of our business, from product design to distribution and marketing. We believe that modern luxury means being socially and environmentally responsible; this mindset is core to our business and key to our long-term success.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the Senior Manager is to lead delivery of projects within a season, working closely with Brand Marketing and the Content Editor to forward plan and agree on the right delivery approach for interlinked projects, ensuring that creative teams are clearly briefed. This role will help ensure the best possible outcome for projects both strategically and creatively, by ensuring each phase is handled to best affect, with timings and milestones suitably protected at each stage of the process.  Stakeholder management is a key part of this role - both in bringing together key department wide decision making for leadership, as well as raising risks and addressing blockers effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will own the holistic delivery of global marketing projects across a season - being responsible for forward planning all projects within a season, and ensuring the right setup and preparation is done in order to kick off a season and projects within suitable timeframes and involvement from stakeholders.
  • You will deliver some projects within the season, with a Project Manager working into you owning delivery of other projects.
  • You will play an active role in identifying areas of process improvement and quickly raising and addressing issues if optimal ways of working across the department are not upheld. The Operations function within the team and Director of PM & Production will partner with you to deliver changes to process.
  • You will be responsible for partnering to ensure consistent ways of working across the Project Management team and will line manage Project Managers and Project Coordinators and offer them leadership and development.
  • You will collaborate closely with the strategy team to drive projects in an inspiring and collaborative way, ensuring teams are progressing as needed in each area.
  • You will be responsible for capturing the deliverables and budget across all areas of your project.
  • You will have the ability to apply your skills across disciplines, while operating at a level that promotes the accountability on others to progress work autonomously.
  • You will establish, communicate and drive project milestones ensuring that all teams are clear on what is expected of them, when - and progressing as required.
  • You will book the creative resource required to deliver the core creative concept for projects across Content, Experience Design, Graphic Design and Music. You will connect wider creative and marketing teams to collaborate and align on how a concept comes to life across social, owned channels, bought media and PR.
  • With the concept and marketing plan agreed - you will handover to specialist Producers and Post Producers in Content, Events and Print to deliver the creative.
  • You will understand the delivery dependencies across owned platforms, bought media, PR and social to ensure that all teams receive core creative that meets the brief and is delivered at the right time.
  • You will work to protect the creative teams time and keep individuals focused, as well as being able to confidently present creative thinking in wider business meetings.
  • You will drive decision making with teams and senior leadership.
