General Manager

REFERENCE STUDIOS is looking for a General Manager to lead our team in Berlin. The ideal applicant should have managerial experience within the fashion - or more broadly the creative industries, a proactive mentality and should be able to support our growth journey from a business perspective in line with the creative vision of our founder and CEO.

This role offers great responsibility, independence and the possibility to implement improvements to the organizational structure within a rapidly growing, internationally relevant PR Agency. 

Requirements: 

• Degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred, but not required
• Extensive experience as a General Manager or similar role within a creative industry, ideally fashion or art
• Understanding of essential PR and Communications activities
• Strong work ethic with a client-oriented mindset
• Expertise in developing and implementing strategies and business plans
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Profound analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong resilience and ability to excel in high-pressure situations
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Familiarity with the German tax and legal system
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, or similar tool sets

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial planning, analysis, forecasting and budgeting; present financial and operating information with key insights in various formats, including management results reviews 
• Develop and execute a business plan to achieve short- and long-term goals; support with strategic input on the expansion of the Reference brand portfolio 
• Collaborate closely with the management team to drive overall strategy, create alignment, and provide visibility to measurable results (financial and otherwise)​
• Set up and maintain a company structure which facilitates growth while maintaining focus on the bottom line
• Supervise all accounting operations, develop and evolve systems and process to efficiently handle large and rapidly growing volume while maintaining strong controls
• Oversee external audits and tax compliance
• Build strong internal control processes
• Manage capital structure, identify working capital and growth investment financing needs, oversee both debt and equity financing efforts
• Collaborate closely with the team and provide key insights to ensure transparency throughout the company
• Keep track of HR requirements and lead recruiting processes in coordination with the management team
• Incentivize, guide and support staff on all levels.
