ABOUT THE TEAM
Zalando’s traffic platform drives the investment in performance channels. The majority of our marketing spend is funneled through the department. At the cutting edge of technology, it relies on the combined efforts of Marketing, Product, Engineering and Applied science to understand the value of marketing and grow the business.

One of the largest advertisers in Europe, we are at the forefront of the evolutions in measurement technology. With a highly automated marketing stack, we are continuously developing new products to support our marketing effort. We are currently expanding our marketing practice.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the VP of pricing and performance, you lead the performance channels at Zalando and guide us through the next years as we embark on a journey to scale our activities further and expand into new domains. You work alongside product leaders to organise the teams and deliver great results. You lead trading, own the relationship with the partners and our internal stakeholders, and play a key role in department level projects.

This role is critical to driving key growth targets for customer acquisition from new social media channels. We are looking for someone with deep performance marketing experience who can collaborate closely with product, applied science and analytics to build scalable marketing technology solutions. As the relationship owner with all major advertising platforms, the role requires strong partnership building and negotiation skills.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Commercial acumen: you have an instinctive understanding of numbers and can talk to anyone about the performance of your channels. You can see and seize opportunities quickly; you make every euro count;
  • Stakeholder management : you can easily communicate the requirements of your teams to management; product; and the engineering side of the organisation. You also maintain a network of relationships internally between the markets and the brand organisation;
  • Zero to one: you can drive the development of new areas; you have a test and learn mindset and are excited about the opportunities opened by the rise of social commerce, AR and the creator economy;
  • Leadership : we are building the team up, and you are the one selecting the people who are the future leaders at Zalando. You can inspire and manage managers; you find a way to make teams successful.
  • Technical ad platform integrations: you are the expert in the functionality, flexibility and targeting granularity offered by ad platforms. You structure accounts in a manner that unlocks value creation from applied science and product innovation.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Ability to define and hit commercial targets for 9 figure budgets on different channels. Experience with commercial planning.
  • Natural problem solver. Great communication skills and ability to operate in a high growth environment.
  • Strong channel knowledge of search engine marketing, paid social, display and digital video marketing. Ability to negotiate terms with partners.
  • Growth marketing and influencer programs knowledge - ideally an eye for what makes customers tick on different social media platforms.
  • At least 8 years of management experience, structuring marketing teams, working with product and automation at scale. Ability to attract and retain great people.
