JOB SUMMARY

The Designer, 3D Handbags, Accessories and Footwear will support the design process from ideation to manufacturing throughout all design phases of hardware design and development. The successful candidate will execute hardware designs and components into technical drawings and or 3D designs/files and ensuring that they are print ready. In addition, this role will manage the 3D printer, prioritizing and executing the printing of models and ensuring proper maintenance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

R ESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with designers to interpret and execute design intent for hardware creation from 2D artwork to 3D files in Rhino.
  • Create technically correct 3D files in Rhino and prepare 3D files for printing.
  • Ensure creative design intent and technical designs are correctly detailed to enable factories and suppliers to understand and execute designs.
  • Interpret designers' intent for hardware creation and place in size and scale.
  • Manipulate 3D files received from factories, to correct and/or print for design approval.
  • Manage the physical 3D printing process; prep and clean machines, ensure appropriate printing supplies are on hand, ensure appropriate maintenance.
  • Prioritize the printing of designs/components based upon project deadlines.


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Product Design, Industrial Design, 3D Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years previous working experience
  • Fluent in 3D programs, specifically Rhino - 3d scanning knowledge a plus
  • Expert in Illustrator and photoshop and previous experience with PLM a plus
  • Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner
  • Must possess strong organizational, communication skills and a strong attention to detail
