Role Overview:

Ensuring the supply chain meets the requirements of the Design, Merchandise and Executive teams, this role directs the yearly and seasonal supply strategy for all categories including RTW, Runway, Knitwear, Denim, Leather, Footwear, Jewelry and SLG’s.

DION LEE is looking for an innovative and experienced Production Director to join the New York based design team.

Reporting to the Creative Director and based in the New York Office and the CEO based in the Sydney HQ, this role will drive and overlook the delivery of DION LEE collections in all categories.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional vision with a strong experience and understanding of production in all categories and will have solid experience working with manufacturers in both the EU and Asia.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct the yearly and seasonal supply strategy for all categories including RTW, Runway, Knitwear, Denim, Leather, Footwear, Jewelry and SLG’s
  • Pro-actively analyze, plan and implement cost-effective sampling and production techniques and strategies.
  • Develop and ensure the adherence to the sampling and production critical path
  • Negotiate cost cutting solutions with internal and external stakeholders to arrive at agreeable price points
  • Administer long-term relationships, whilst still sourcing and securing new suppliers across all categories and regions within the global supply chain
  • Develop a production model that supports both small and medium quantities as well as the ability to re-order within short time frames
  • Develop planning capabilities to build time into the critical path including fabric forecasting, supplier specific range planning and a blend of FOB and CMT SKU’s
  • Consult with design, merchandising and executive teams to ensure sourcing strategy aligns with company direction and goals
  • Continuously evaluate supplier pricing by monitoring business conditions, commodity pricing, currency movement and broader economic indicators
  • Establish final cost, wholesale and RRP, protecting or exceeding required margin
  • Provide and update cash-flow projections and adjust expenditure as required
  • Conduct or oversee twice yearly factory reviews and provide feedback where required
  • Oversee the sourcing and development of raw materials and finished goods
  • Lead, manage and mentor the production and QA team
  • Ensure health and safety compliance is met
  • Ensure ethical sourcing standards exceed international guidelines
  • Ensure robust QA process are in place to support the supply of high-quality garments
  • Provide weekly updates of sampling and production timeline
