Technical Designer

TECHNICAL DESIGNER - New York based  

The Technical Designer will be based in the Dion Lee office in Tribeca, New York and will work closely alongside the Product Developer, Development Manager, Designers, Patternmakers and Production team. 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Review styles with Designers to understand design intention prior to initiating tech pack
• Issue style number, set up tech pack and create flat technical sketch
• Input make instructions, relevant style notes, cutters must, stitching and finishing details into tech pack
• Create initial specs based on sketches & samples to design specification (where applicable)
• Measure, record and update measurement specs and target specs based off pattern and/or sample. 
• Maintain grade rules and standard blocks, working across womens and unisex sizing
• Conduct fit meetings with Design team and take relevant notes
• Issue fit comments, detailed corrections, and update specs to patternmaker or overseas factory when required
• Communication with overseas factories and production teams.
• Assist with sample processing with local and overseas factories.
• Assist in generating BOM including all garment components: fabrics, yields, trims, stitching, labels and packaging.
• Assist with the entry of BOM into fashion management system.
• Assist with any ad hoc tasks related to the development and production of the sample ranges for sales and press.
