Job Overview:

The Senior Planner: Marketing Promotions will assume a central and interactive role in the marketing organization with primary responsibility for managing and executing company-wide in-store and online execution. The Senior Planner will facilitate the planning of promotional messaging strategies and own aspects of the promotional strategy.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage set up of in store barcodes for discount promotions (strategy of programming exclusions based on barcode set up and overlapping offers on marketing calendar). Work with multiple teams to ensure programming deadlines are met.
  • Manage set up of Loyalty offers for store/sitewide promotions
  • Maintain Loyalty point offer calendar for store/sitewide promotions
  • Manage exclusion change request process, weighing business impact as well as execution risk and directing execution of changes
  • Lead the promotional offer testing process by initiating testing direction for promotional functionality/messaging as well as vendor exclusion/inclusion testing with Site Merchandising counterparts
  • Brief store/sitewide promotional offers in internal system for creative to produce direct mail, ROP, and digital assets indicating offer, dates, qualifier and disclaimer information for discount and loyalty offer components
  • Assist calendar planning team by strategizing and ideating promotional offers for storewide/sitewide and specific offers
  • With team, participates in analyzing competitive landscape, bringing new ideas for both promotional offers and messaging to the team for consideration

Assist in strategic planning process through development and analysis of annual operating plan and long-range plans each year.

Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university

3-5 years related experience
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing
  • Occasionally requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
