A little bit about the role

When you work for us, you’re more than a placement student – you join our rapidly expanding Gymshark family. We give people the tools they need to reach further, go faster and be the best version of themselves. We work hard, sure, but we have fun while we do it. Sound like you?

We are looking for an intern to join our Copy Team for an exciting 13-month placement starting in July 2022. You will learn how to take a concept from initial idea to a full-fledged campaign, helping to direct and develop along the way. You will develop skills from concept creation and development, art directing photoshoots, developing brand copy, storyboarding videos, location scouting, retouch, postproduction, graphic design, critical path management and more.

What you’ll be doing
You will gain experience in the following areas:

• Learning how to communicate and develop the Gymshark tone of voice across all channels.
• Support the team with Business as Usual (BAU) and ad-hoc requests from the business to create copy for a variety of channels which include email, social, website, and trading.
• Work on a wide variety of briefs to learn how to produce high-level copy for a variety of projects.
• Learn how to develop messaging for the product and brand campaigns.
• Learn how to write to an audience - our copy goes to literally millions of individuals, what we say and how we say it matters. Learn to follow and align to our tone of voice.
• Communicate with teams across the business to assist with copy requests.

What you’ll need
We’re not about box-ticking, but if this profile speaks to you all the better:

• Some experience writing and communicating to a focused audience and/or with a focused voice.
• An ability to work both proactively and reactively in the research, development and delivery of written content.
• A passion - and respect - for the power of words and the impact they can have.
• Ability to work independently and in team environment
• Ability to plan and manage time effectively 
• A beady eye for proofing, attention to detail when it comes to people's responses to language.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – being able to quickly establish effective relationships at all levels (internal & external).
• Ability to follow creative direction whilst also thinking outside the box.

What happens next?

If your application is successful, you'll be invited to take part in a video screening and if successful, you'll be invited to an in person assessment day. Our assessment days will be held at Gymshark HQ, Solihull, UK at the beginning of December. 

Job applications open on 11th October 2021 and close on 24th October 2021.  

Placement is for 13 months from July 2022.
