A little bit about the role

We are looking for an undergraduate to join our Social Content Placement Student for an exciting 13-month placement starting July 2022. As Social Content Intern, your mission will be to help take Gymshark’s social content to the next level, ensuring we’re the first word on everyone’s lips.

You will gain experience in how to manage social media channel(s) whilst being a social research machine. No two days are the same, as you will learn how to be reactive and work proactively to problem solve and highlight potential opportunities and threats. The ideal candidate must have a passion for social media and an obsession for creating viral content.

What you’ll be doing
You will gain experience in the following areas: 

  • Assist with managing emerging social media channel(s)
  • Learn how to develop engaging, creative, innovative content for regularly scheduled posts, which enlighten our community and promote brand-focused messages
  • Support the social content team to make sure they are always equipped with the latest industry updates
  • Work with the Creative team to learn how to produce and distribute engaging, sharable content across all channels from both a Business As Usual (BAU) and campaign perspective.
  • Assist your intermediate team by offering administrative support to ensure that day-to-day function requirements are adhered to, and internal decks are updated
  • Learn how to identify key communicators, popular content and emerging narratives and transform your findings into clear reports
  • Develop your performance competitive market research to help support Social Content team and wider Brand and Marketing departments
  • Learn how to author reports containing actionable recommendations
  • Learn how to use quantitative and qualitative data to make independent decisions confidently that will help elevate the brand to new heights
  • Support on team projects ensuring that collaboration sessions are documented, follow up actions are executed and that deadlines are met.

What you’ll need
We’re not about box-ticking, but if this profile speaks to you all the better:

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant field of study
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat
  • Strong sense of responsibility, takes ownership, self-starter and proactive attitude
  • You are a naturally curious thinker, with a passion for understanding customer needs
  • Agile to change and pragmatic
  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively 
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment
  • Comfortable working in a high pressure, fast paced environment where identifying needs, providing solutions and adding value is a prerequisite
  • Must be comfortable presenting concepts and ideas to a variety of audiences
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience using Photoshop, Premiere Pro and other creative programs a bonus
  • Flexibility towards out of hours and unsociable hours if required

What happens next?

If your application is successful, you'll be invited to take part in a video screening and if successful, you'll be invited to an in person assessment day. Our assessment days will be held at Gymshark HQ, Solihull, UK at the beginning of December. 

Job applications open on 11th October 2021 and close on 24th October 2021.  

Placement is for 13 months from July 2022.
