JOB PURPOSE

This role is the Subject Matter Expert and leads the technical strategy and governance for Low Code App Development via the Microsoft Power Platform but will have a wider understand of other Enterprise Low Code Application Platforms. We require a good blend of skills in business processes and technology as well as strong hands-on experience in the Microsoft PowerPlatform. It should be noted that this is not a hands-on engineering role but will require technical knowledge to provide appropriate governance and support our Citizen Developers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the Burberry LCAP strategy and roadmap, aligning with other App delivery mechanisms utilised within Burberry, e.g. D&I App Factory, iOS App Development, SAP Fiori Apps.
  • Build a PowerPlatform Centre of excellence within the Digital Workplace team to manage the lifecycle of any new or existing PowerApps. Ensure these are fully catalogued.
  • Design and implement a light touch global governance model for PowerApps that is based around software development fundamentals and processes for test and deploy environments and utilising our agreed API wrapper layer for integrations.
  • Implement an "App Dev forum" to understand how any new App requests may fit within our Business and IT Tower strategies. Understanding and managing the lifecycle of any "Tactical" PowerApps.
  • Work closely with our Security and Risk teams to ensure our security requirements are considered and incorporated both within the governance model and during app design and development.
  • Experience in the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of enterprise scale Office 365 applications and solutions using PowerAutomate, and PowerApps. Always ensuring that User Experience is at the centre of what we design, building a UI standard that meets our branding and accessibility requirements.
  • Experience developing new PowerApps model and canvas driven apps as well as enhancing existing Apps.
  • Understanding PowerApps formulas and development methods, and automation of business processes via PowerAutomate.
  • Manage and monitor our PowerPlatform Licensing.
  • Build, support, encourage and grow our existing global Citizen Development Network to self-serve app development with assist with applying light touch governance. Actively promote and publish updates and communications to both our Digital Workplace and PowerApps Community on Yammer
  • Develop a decision process flow for app development and preferred approved app development platforms, recognising that PowerApps may not be suitable for all type of App requests.
  • Develop and support innovation via the creative use of PowerApps POCs, to understand the benefits prior to planning how they can then be industrialised to ensure supportability and availability requirements.
  • Work closely and collaborate with the Data Analytics Team to define how we store and utilise data collected or required for PowerApps, taking into consideration our standard data lifecycle management.
  • Analyse business requirements by collaborating with the stakeholders and IT Management, including studying systems flows, data usage and work processes.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, etc. Create and manage documentation and catalogue for all PowerApps in the Burberry environment.
  • Consider the impact of the multiple apps on Employee Experience and how they can be delivered to our employees in the most user-friendly way.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • You have skills and experience in
    • Previous PowerApps development experience with SharePoint.
      SharePoint Online experience.
      Power Automate experience.
      Canvas App Development experience.
    • Office365 and other core productivity applications.
    • Understanding of good data structure.
    • API integrations.
  • Confident approach, delivering with minimal supervision/guidance.
  • Ability to execute a Digital Workplace vision based on providing our Employees with the best experience.
  • User-centric by nature and confident communicating effectively to an audience to convey concepts and ideas.
  • High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to build effective long-term relationships and contribute to key business decisions.
