Job Details

The Shopify Treasury team sits in the centre of our Finance organization, linking together different functional groups both strategically and operationally.

We are looking to add a Manager to our Treasury team who will bring passion, business acumen, and a get-it-done attitude to power Shopify's FX reporting to inform our Executives and drive outstanding investment decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Analytics, reporting and storytelling:
    • Becoming the subject matter expert on Shopify's foreign exchange exposures
    • Analyzing global performance of merchant facing FX products (financial and other operational KPIs)
    • Preparing monthly & quarterly FX financial reporting packages for the executive team and Board of Directors
    • Forecasting FX exposures on P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statements
    • Partnering with our Data organization and the rest of Finance to champion value-added analytics and insights to drive action
    • Assisting Investor Relations with FX related communications
  • Driving process improvements:
    • Building connection between Treasury and FP&A including processes that simplify, align & drive accountability/ownership
    • Developing long term FX pricing strategy
    • Integrating short & long term planning into planning tools for automated reporting
    • Driving reporting calendar and discussions with Accounting and Finance
  • Owning relationships with Service groups (e.g., Shopify Payments, Pricing teams) to help key stakeholders make great decisions
  • Coaching, developing, and empowering a world-class team


Qualifications

  • Strong track record of execution and impact in a series of progressive experiences
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills, with team oriented focus
  • Expert-level financial modellingskills, with experience building complex financial planning models
  • Strong analytical, decision making, project management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous work environment
  • Curiosity and a passion for excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement

Bonus Qualifications
  • An MBA or a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFA)
  • Experience within a publicly traded company
  • Experience in tech or other SaaS-based business models
  • Experience with Financial Planning software
