Zalando's Pricing Platform team provides the analytical and algorithmical backbone to recommend discounts for 500K+ articles in 20+ countries on an ongoing basis. Understanding how pricing adds to value creation for our customers is at the core of Pricing Analytics. We help our software development teams and pricing experts to take the best pricing and development decisions with data analytics products and insights on large scale data and constantly advance our understanding of long term customer lifetime value created by pricing decisions.

ABOUT THE TEAM

As a Team Lead Analytics, you will be the most senior Analyst in the cross-functional team of ~30 individuals (with 3-5 Analysts directly reporting to you) who initiate, build and operate some of Zalando's most missing critical pricing products. You will own the analytical and algorithmical backbone for (Targeted) Coupons, Black Pricing and innovative promotional incentives such as gift with purchase, bundles and cashbacks to deepen the relationships with 45+ million active customers across 25 countries touching all 1 million products sold on Zalando.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Own the analytical and algorithmical backbone. You will lead all Analytics of complex high impact pricing products. You will i) generate insights through continuous experiments to improve and change the direction of our products, ii) measure & report on performance KPIs of a three-digit million euro annual investment, and iii) address analytical (ad hoc) requests effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead the Analytics team. You will lead and mentor a diverse team of expert data analysts, providing high support as well as the right inclusive and technical environment for your team to strive and be successful in delivering on complex analytics.
  • Deliver with teams. You will be an integral part of cross-functional and cross-departmental product releases and closely collaborate with the dedicated team of engineers and product managers as well as stakeholders across the Zalando group. You will identify and remove bottlenecks and push the roadmap of your domain to success with a solution oriented mindset.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience. 7+ years experience in Analytics or Data Science with 2+ years managing and developing analytics teams and project leadership within a complex digital environment. Experience in pricing, incentives and/or coupons is a plus but nomust.
  • Tech. Strong technical background with advanced SQL skills and programming background (Python, Jupyter, Airflow, Databricks, Pandas). Excellent knowledge in coding for data retrieval, exploration and analysis.
  • Analytical skills. You have a very structured approach in solving complex problems, breaking them down into sub-problems that can be easier solved according to priority. You have a good intuition and know when to dive deep into data and when not.
  • Business acumen. Understanding of the economics of online platforms and/or online fashion retailers and the commercial KPIs governing their success.
  • Communication. Effective written and verbal communication skills (in English), with the ability to understand, analyze and clearly communicate in a structured way insights and decision proposals.
