Job Details

We are looking for an experienced analyst to build and oversee an analytics program for localization across multiple disciplines as a part of the cross-functional International Content & Localization team.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with International Content & Localization and Data Science to define, build, and maintain data resources for all localization disciplines with an emphasis on critical business metrics, team KPIs, and project OKRs.
  • Oversee the development of operational reporting and dashboards for tracking throughput and localization investments for multiple teams and services.
  • Coordinate and build dashboards for performance related metrics and business activities to demonstrate business impact of localization projects and initiatives across all disciplines.
  • Help identify trends and indicators in data streams and reports to inform strategic decisions or guide new investments in under- or unrepresented markets.
  • Work with data engineering to prioritize, schedule, and build ETLs of systems data for integration into the Shopify data lake.
  • Represent localization with respects to data and performance at team meetings, on official Data & Priorities calls, and to executive leadership as needed.
  • Use data and reports to monitor pipelines for key deliverables with respects to volume, time, and quality, and communicate project statuses to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide analytics and insights to isolate bottlenecks and inefficiencies with clear paths for initiatives, root cause analysis, and testing that feed improvement and scale objectives.
  • Leading by example when it comes to collaboration and communication


Qualifications

  • Proven experience having animpact on the business.
  • Considerable experience in analytics with a particular focus on localized content performance, throughput, quality, and cost.
  • Proficiency in SQL languages, data ETLs and warehousing, data modeling, and working with large volumes of disparate data sources.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and analytical methodologies relating to localization business intelligence and data analysis.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to bring life to the Shopify brand in a way that is both consistent with our global positioning and meaningful to local culture and customs
  • A deep understanding of local expectations and trends.
  • Love both high-level strategy and hands-on project development and work.
  • Solid, demonstrated cross-functional content and project management experience, in particular with complex content initiatives and senior stakeholder management.
  • Creative, solution-oriented, hardworking, and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to take the initiative in a constantly-changing work environment and a willingness to adopt a generalist mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with the right blend of prioritization and hitting tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Background working with cross-functional teams, including those with technical roles such as data engineering, data science, UX designers, researchers, and engineers.
  • Understanding SEO and web-based content KPIs as they pertain to conversion and the ability to drive and grow business in local markets.

Bonus Experience:
  • Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Entrepreneurial mind; if you've started a business of your own before that would be great!
  • Experience working effectively within a multilingual, globally distributed team.
  • Translation and localization experience.
  • Understand principles of design and user experience.
