BRAND MARKETING DIRECTOR - La DoubleJ

 

A Milan-based lifestyle brand on a healthy growth trajectory, La DoubleJ is seeking a highly strategic marketing director to deliver innovative strategies and oversee the execution of best-in-class marketing initiatives, driving brand awareness, new customer acquisition, community expansion, and global growth.

 

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of modern marketing behaviors, a passion for consumer insights, and a proven track record, with case studies that clearly show business impact. Candidates with international experience and a history of implementing high impact ideas with measurable results will be most strongly considered as we search for a leader to contribute as our brand scales. As a key member of our team, this individual will play a critical role in amplifying, evolving, and driving our approach to global marketing going forward. We  are a nimble, highly collaborative group and expect the person in this role to lead and strategize, as well as role up their sleeves and participate in the execution of all initiatives.

 

The scope of responsibilities include: Overall integrated marketing strategy, oversight of all marketing campaigns, PR/comms, social media, and activations (pop-ups, collaborations, special events, presentations, sponsorships, and shows). This is a cross-functional role that will work closely with all parts of the company, including Content, Creative, Design, Ecomm/Digital, Merchandising, Production, and Finance, ensuring alignment and tightly coordinated workflow.

 

Experience working within a fast-paced growth-oriented company on the international stage and an understanding of a luxury lifestyle brand are musts. This role reports into the Chief Brand Officer.

 

What you'll do:

 

Marketing Strategy & Planning:

•   Develop and own the global marketing strategy and budget across all online and offline channels and touch points, driving cost-effective customer acquisition and meaningful brand experiences

•   Lead with a results-driven mentality across all marketing initiatives, planning and executing distinctive campaigns throughout the funnel

•   Optimize current channel allocation and budgeting for rapid new customer acquisition

•   Develop and implement strategies that build long-term customer loyalty, maximizing retention

•   Work cross-functionally with creative and business teams to develop seasonal and monthly marketing/social strategies

•   Work with creative and business teams to develop new programs and in season campaigns, managing the production and delivery of these programs

•   Own the marketing budget and manage spend by channel, partnering with the head of Ecomm

•   Manage the master marketing calendar and partner with Head of Content for the timely delivery of assets

•   Monitor, evaluate and optimize marketing performance to drive ROI and continuous improvements in KPIs across all marketing channels

•   Identify weaknesses in existing marketing activities and develop pragmatic solutions within budgetary constraints

•   Strategic development of activations and collateral for Ecomm as well as our retail partners

•   Own all analysis and reporting, establishing benchmarks and delivering thoughtfully considered monthly updates

 

 

Brand Guardian & Innovation Sparkplug:

•   Test new marketing channels and tactics with a strategic “test and learn” mentality, constantly seeking innovative approaches and solutions

•   Be a passionate student of the global marketplace, modern brand behaviors, and the consumer, consistently bringing new ideas to consider and implement

•   Oversee external PR partners and collaborators across the marketing mix

•   Oversee and be responsible for consistent execution of the brand guidelines across all touchpoints, including owning approval of all brand assets

•   Manage the cross-functional approval process and the touch points within it

•   Responsible for maintaining marketing project timelines, drafting briefs, oversee timely asset delivery and secure all necessary approvals

•   Partner with Finance on budget forecasting, execution, and analysis

•   Continue to shape and build the Marketing and PR team, recruiting and inspiring talent that will help shape the future of our brand and company culture

 

Creative Input and Ideation:

•   Conceptualize how to translate the message of the season, creating stories for both Marketing and PR

•   Ensure all launches are supported with strong storytelling and fresh product marketing

•   Work closely with Executive Editor to deliver fresh content across all channels

•   Strategize and own our gifting program, setting budget, KPI’s, and results analysis

 

Internal Communications:

•   Maintain effective communication to ensure all relevant departments are notified and included in planning and execution of marketing strategies

•   Run the weekly Marketing meeting, providing updates to leadership about project metrics/results and presentation of a go-forward strategy-based testing and analytics throughout all the marketing channels

 

What we're looking for:

 

•   7+ years of experience, leading growth and retention marketing at a DTC or omni-channel brand, ideally (but not exclusively) in the fashion/lifestyle or beauty spaces

•   Experience guiding growth of a brand with international distribution

•   Deep knowledge of effective channels and strategies to build brand awareness, develop efficient full-funnel acquisition strategy, and build community

•   Natural inclination to deliver and embrace creativity and innovative ideas

•   Excellent analytical skills with an ability to use data to drive planning and decision making 

•   Hands-on experience managing a wide variety of online and offline marketing channels

•   Team player with an inspiring spirt, hustle, and enthusiasm, taking an “no job too big nor too small” approach

•   Ability to keep plans and strategies on track while also managing spontaneous opportunities and change

•   Exceptional organizational skills, strong sense of ownership, and tireless follow-through suited to a rapid-growth environment

•   Depth of experience with budget and program management

•   Confident and dynamic while remaining humble and generous to all teammates and partners

•   Eagerness to grow and learn

•   Degree level education
