The Role
For the Business Analyst role, By Malene Birger is looking for someone who has the ability to solve complex business problems by interrogating, interpreting and synthesising information about our trade, customers, products and onsite experience, in light of market intelligence and strategic context to generate strategic insights.
As part of the e-commerce team based at our Copenhagen office, this brand new role is integral to By Malene Birger’s international growth strategy, with the primary mission to drive value from data and enable insight-led decision-making. In this role you will report to By Malene Birger's Head of E-Commerce.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delivering a well-rounded view of sales drivers with analysis on trade, marketing channels, customer metrics and market intelligence to support business’ understanding of short and mid-term performance
- Drawing on a variety of data sources and tools to deliver a holistic, accurate view of performance, and to shape long-term strategy, including customer transactions and behaviour, web analytics, channel analytics, market intelligence
- Working closely with colleagues both within e-commerce and the wider business, to ensure insight is accurate and recommendations are relevant
- Championing an understanding of data and insight with stakeholders and business partners, ensuring teams are operating based on insight with appropriate direct access to data
- Building a close working relationship with other stakeholders to identify gaps in business understanding and draws on existing insight from across the department to meet their needs
- Proactively bringing new ideas to the table relating to business questions, analytics approaches and datasets, and ways of working
The Ideal Candidate
Skills, qualifications and experience required:
- 2-3 years’ experience in an e-commerce analytics-based role
- Understanding of and keen interest in trade and/or consumer insights
- Highly numerate and strong attention to detail
- Passion for problem solving
- Proactive approach and enthusiasm for sharing ideas
- Able to communicate information clearly and concisely
- Web Analytics skills (Adobe, Google Analytics)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Business, Finance)
