UA/Uniform Advantage Brands is seeking a Senior Category Manager. This individual is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for buying and forecasting non-clinical products, maintaining product assortment on B2B websites, understanding product, and category trends, developing strategic procurement strategies and plans, working with the Product & Pricing Manager on price inputs and item creation, working with Sales and Customer Service teams to grow volume, revenue, and margin.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes data and competitive landscape to determine industry and consumer trends.
  • Devises long-term development strategies for product categories.
  • Develops exit strategies for slow-selling products, including negotiating returns when appropriate.
  • Fosters trust in relationships with suppliers to understand their strategies, develop mutual goals, achieve competitive pricing while increasing margins.
  • Places appropriate orders to ensure product availability to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Works with the Marketing team to determine competitive pricing and promotional cadence of a product category and Product and Pricing to set up and maintain pricing.
  • Collaborates with VP of Design to develop styles to fill Retail voids.
  • Develops forecasts for product demand to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Assumes responsibility for budget development and revenue for the category.
  • Addresses internal customer needs with a sense of urgency, maintaining excellent customer service.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a procurement category manager or similar role.
  • Proven experience in negotiation skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Category Management, Marketing, and Sales principles.
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Consistent use of analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to clearly communicate/present information and ideas and persuade/influence others.
  • Ability to interact with people in both individual and group settings.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Project Management Experience
  • 4-year degree required, advanced degree a plus
