JOB PURPOSE

Burberry is looking for an experienced, self-motivated and driving IT Programme Manager to manage the delivery of major projects and programmes within the Product & Supply Chain IT portfolio. The ideal candidate will be provided the unique opportunity to develop their knowledge of the luxury fashion sector through exposure across our business.

This is an exciting role for an experienced senior project / programme manager capable of handling multi-£m programmes or multiple projects concurrently. You will work with a talented and dedicated team in an environment with a great culture. The work is fast paced and challenging with scope for learning new skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage projects and programmes from inception through to transition to BAU across the full life cycle of project.
  • Establish and maintain programme governance and stakeholder management; engaging key stakeholders across both IT, Supply Chain, Finance and other functions as required.
  • Ensure projects and programmes are setup for success.
  • Implement project/programme management processes including scope management, planning, change control, communications, RAID management, quality control, cost management and procurement - supported by templates and Burberry ways of working.
  • Manage the RFP process for selecting potential vendors / partners.
  • Create project charters and manage the baselining of project/programme scope.
  • Create detailed project plans / timelines in collaboration with the wider project/programme team.
  • Ensure project plans are fully integrated across all delivery teams.
  • Create a resource and cost plan; agree resource assignment/allocation; form and developing the project/programme team.
  • Provide open and transparent feedback, status reports, RAID logs and Financial Trackers into the Portfolio by partnering closely with Senior Portfolio Manager to ensure project governance and best practises are followed.
  • Agree and adhere to a Project Governance structure and run regular meetings in agreed cadence.
  • Manage project execution to time, budget and required business outcomes.
  • Integrated change control across the project/programme.
  • Collaborate with other PMs and colleagues across the Portfolio.


PERSONAL PROFILE

Technical Expertise and Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience of multiple End-to-End Project Lifecycles.
  • Delivered £1-10m projects/programmes on time and on budget.
  • Experience across multiple project delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile and hybrid).
  • Experience in Supply Chain or ERP solutions.
  • Ability to apply both creative and pragmatic thinking to problem solving.
  • Demonstrable understanding of both functional and non-functional IT.
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent attention to detail.

People and Stakeholder Management:
  • Proven leadership and people management expertise, with the ability to prioritise activities and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Ability to take people through organisational and technical change to gain commitment to new models of working.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, driven and proactive; able to acclimate in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Clarifies understanding by asking questions and probing carefully.

Business Acumen:
  • Strong financial and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to take a holistic view of the business case, using this to guide programme execution, and understanding of the broader context of decisions.
  • Ability to grasp issues of a business nature and assess the technical impact, and vice versa.
  • Strong judgement - with willingness to take responsibility for project decisions.

Desirable
  • Experience in the Retail industry.
  • Experience of delivering complex end-to-end implementations across different companies, functions and/or industries.
  • Background of Management Consulting.
  • Interest in the creative industries, retail and consumer goods.
