Purpose of Position:

 

The Management Accountant produces a range of financial information that can be used to analyse the business both retrospectively and prospectively. You will be required to take ownership of your work, be comfortable working to deadlines and be able to proactively support across the breadth of the business. You will prepare and monitor the overall budget process as well as preparing the monthly/annual management accounts and overseeing ad hoc business analyses, eg. special projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and monitor the budget & revision process: assist managers with preparing their budgets, challenge managers on unusual/high costs, consolidate the global figures and present the global budget to the CFO & CEO.
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts highlighting variances vs budget and previous year.
  • Check the consistency of monthly trial balance.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and analysis, highlighting any key variances.
  • Assist with monthly and annual working capital requirements.
  • Margin analysis and commentary.
  • Ensure that supplier invoices are posted in the right account/cost centre/project.
  • Intercompany accounting and reconciliation.
  • Assist with the stock management and reconciliation.
  • Ensure financial processes are being adhered to by the business and constantly review for efficiency.
  • Assist with special projects and collaborations.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks that may be required.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a management accounting role, preferably in the luxury industry
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Communication: Strong and effective presentation skills and ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and ensure delivery of results within tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Accuracy: High level of accuracy required in all tasks
  • Excellence: High level of finesse and excellence required in delivery of all tasks

 

Optional Skills and Experience:

  • Italian language
  • Proficient in Sage 200 or equivalent
