Shopify's Merchant Services Product Marketing team is seeking a Senior Producer focused on video production, photography and creative strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategic ideation and creative direction for video production and campaign asset creation for marketing across Merchant Services.

The Merchant Services Product Marketing team is responsible for bringing products to market and growing them, including the messaging, positioning and creative output for products. Our product portfolio includes Money, Marketplaces, Shipping, Transactions and Retail among others.

As a Senior Producer, you will manage the creative process from concept to completion across campaigns with a specialization in video, photography, audio and social media. You will work closely with fellow Product Marketing Managers and Marketing UX teams to translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies and ensure visual communication and brand standards are met.

In terms of video, your role will focus on all three phases of production. You will help to conceptualize, script, storyboard and develop video content to be used in promotional/inspirational marketing materials. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in producing videos both in house and working with freelancers and production partners and have knowledge in directing, shooting, and editing videos, along with a passion for crafting compelling stories.

You would be responsible for generating new visuals for various campaigns, product announcements (like Shopify POS Made To Move ), merchant testimonials (like Fraud Protect featuring Baked Cravings ) and how-to explainers. We're looking for a passionate, positive, creative self-starter, who can produce quality content packages end-to end in a team environment, but with minimal direct oversight.

  • Provide advanced creative and visual storytelling from conceptualization through producing and editing
  • Maintain best-in-class video production practices and setups
  • Oversee productions from start to finish, beginning with initial concept and ending with final video deliverables.
  • Handle budget management including POs, contracts, expenses and tracking
  • Work with colleagues to identify the right locations, equipment, and diverse talent to build and execute the creative vision
  • Develop scripts, treatments, and storyboards
  • Actively stay on top of marketing trends, goals and performance indicators
  • Work directly with stakeholders and collaborators across Shopify.
  • Implement, oversee and control the production schedule


  • Experience generating powerful, credible original video content. Producing, directing, and editing video.
  • Expert knowledge in-studio and documentary production.
  • Strong shooting skills in the studio and in the field (we use predominantly use Sony FS7 and Canon C300 MkII)
  • Expert knowledge in studio/set lighting and audio recording
  • Deep connections with freelancers and production partners. Ability to conduct fast and fair agency procurement.
  • Proficient knowledge and editing in Premiere and Photoshop. User knowledge of Illustrator, Figma an asset.
  • Ability to work across a number of teams
  • Ability to keep pace and adapt to the latest technology and social media best practices while constantly learning and improving
  • You live at the intersection of marketing, production, and product , and understand how to take people on a complete journey.
  • The ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment, always thriving on change
  • Proven project and production management experience
