Job Details

As a Product Marketing Manager in the Ecosystem team you will drive messaging, awareness, engagement, and adoption of new product capabilities and core offerings for developers and partners, fueling the growth of our developer ecosystem and positive impact on merchants' businesses. You will also support product strategy by bringing the developer perspective, both establishing and expanding Shopify's presence and reach in the developer community.

You'll get to do things like:

Craft positioning and messaging
  • Tell the story about Shopify's development platform, giving shape to the way new product features and developer tools are introduced to developers and partners worldwide. Inform content creation on several types of assets and channels.

Define go-to-market strategy
  • Define the best approach to communicate the latest innovations in the platform by understanding developer and merchant needs, product roadmap, market trends, and competitive landscape. Drive programs end-to-end with exceptional communication and program management skills. Lead customer research projects and bring the voice of the developer to inform product roadmap and marketing tactics.

Execute digital marketing
  • Ideate, create, and execute marketing campaigns to drive awareness, adoption, and growth. Support development and execution of developer marketing campaigns, programs, and events.
  • Establish community presenceRepresent Shopify in the developer community and help to build a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for developers from varied backgrounds and skill levels.

Make data-driven decisions
  • Use data to understand landscape and trends, set goals, measure success, and look for new opportunities. Define segments and profiles to support effective targeting and deeper engagement with developers and partners.

Work cross-functionally
  • Drive alignment and partner effectively with other Product Marketing peers and stakeholders - such as Product Management, Partnerships, Developer Advocacy, Developer Relations, and Operations. Contribute to improvements in internal processes as we grow the Shopify developer ecosystem.

Grow and have fun!
  • Surround yourself with a world-class team of highly talented people who keep learning from one another, and define how you level up and continue developing your career with self-directed development budgets to support learning and growth.

Qualifications

You'll need to have:
  • Experience in developer product marketing, developer marketing, developer advocacy, technical evangelism, technical sales, or product management.
  • Demonstrated technical breadth and understanding of developer tools, application development, API usage, and/or web development. Previous hands-on experience on a developer/technical role preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to transform developer needs and product capabilities into easy-to-understand messages and value propositions. Public speaking is a plus.
  • Experience building and managing holistic marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Experience with a growth company, or a growth business within a non-growth company.
  • Experience using data/analytics to measure the impact of your work in the context of the total business strategy.
  • The ability to thrive in chaos and think quickly on your feet.

It would be great if you also had:
  • A "get shit done" attitude.
