PR Director

The Foundation is a globally recognized fashion and lifestyle conglomerate based out of NYC and Los Angeles, known for having some of the most sought-after brands in the market, including Kappa, Billionaire Boys Club, Ice Cream, Midnight Studios, etc. 

The Foundation is seeking a PR Director with relevant fashion-focused PR experience at an agency or in-house to join our team to lead and build our new PR Division. The ideal candidate will work with the company founders, brand managers, and relevant brand marketing teams to lead, develop, plan, and communicate consistent brand messaging across the entire Foundation brand portfolio. In addition, manage a team of 2-3 account managers and be expected to handle and manage PR communications. The position can be based out of the New York or Los Angeles office.  When not traveling, the PR Director will be in the office.   

Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop and execute a dynamic PR strategy and implement product and brand communication for The Foundation corporately as well as all of the brands in the portfolio  
  • Work directly with The Foundation founders, brand managers, and each brand’s respective marketing teams to help manage and coordinate day-to-day PR activities across the company 
  • Act as an inspiring leader to develop and lead a team of 2-3 in the PR Department 
  • Strategize and communicate regularly with external PR business partners in outreach to magazines, celebrities, influencers, and other media outlets for pitching and product placements
  • Consistently pitch and secure media coverage 
  • Build and manage relationships with influencers, editors, stylists, and other relevant partners
  • Help plan and execute PR/marketing events
  • Work with celebrities, influencers, and other VIP guests for event dressing and styling appointments
  • Manage and organize the system for tracking samples issued to media and stylists
  • Monitor, track, and share all press activities and placements with internal and external teams
  • Create and share monthly press recaps with internal and external teams
  • Collaborate with content/marketing team to ideate and create relevant decks for internal and external use 
  • Collaborate with content team on social initiatives and campaigns (including, but not limited to, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and YouTube) for product launches, PR initiatives, and other relevant stories
  • Partner in the development and maintenance of content calendar (including social media
  • Communicate, coordinate, and work with external PR partners on any new product launches, events and campaigns and share any relevant asset

Qualification & Skills Required:

  • BA/BS in Communication, Marketing or a related field
  • 8+years of PR experience within the fashion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate across the organization at all levels
  • Strong negotiation skills; strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority and attention to detail
  • Exhibit strong verbal and writing skills.  
  • Familiarity with men and women streetwear and luxury fashion
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential, controversial, and sensitive nature
  • Ability to implement strategy and has an enthusiasm to present learnings proactively and suggest new ideas ​
