The Team

The marketing controlling & measurement team is part of the wider marketing department and supports all marketing teams across various brands and regions in reaching their targets - as we have a global role. Our team mirrors the organizational structure of the marketing team: by brand, by functional team and by campaign. We are actively involved in setting up budgets, long-term targets and reforecasting with all involved parties. We report on the current performance against these plans and indicate the impact on the future performance. We have a lead role in measuring performance to drive Return on Investment and value creation against defined marketing/campaign objectives in line with the Marketing Strategy throughout the full end-to-end campaign development process. The team is using a wide range of tools to support these analyses, forecasts and strategic activities. We closely collaborate with marketing, finance, controlling, ABI and ECOM. Overall, our team has three key objectives:
  • Support the marketing organization to set and achieve its business targets and objectives
  • Advise to optimize marketing investments (budget allocation & maximizing return)
  • Act as proactive business partner - with a stakeholder focus - to drive business impact

Specifically, the marketing measurement team is responsible for:
  • Ensuring ongoing honest assessment of marketing performance to understand true drivers of success and secure objective learning
  • Building relevant and meaningful reporting that combines budget, marketing performance and commercial data that provide insights for decision making
  • Driving target setting and monitoring marketing KPI's against those targets
  • Ownership of KPI framework, challenging and signing off on methodologies to measure performance and stimulate learning
  • Supporting a data driven marketing approach and driving the actionability of insights for the decision making process
  • Providing advice on strategic projects

The Position

As a member of our team, the Senior Analyst is independently working on analytical queries to help understand how marketing activities affect performance. Just as important is the impact the Senior Analyst is making in translating the analysis into learnings and driving these learnings across the teams to drive true business impact. The role manages relationships with key marketing leads and actively searches for new opportunities to work on.

The successful candidate will be working for an international and fast growing organization where he/she will be supporting the Manager and Director with the following activities:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and further build the marketing KPI framework and methodologies
  • Independently analyze performance queries through an mathemical / statiscal lens
  • Prepare dashboards and reports with a focus on delivering results
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external businesses to improve the performance measurement process
  • Drive transparency on cost drivers and ROI to advise on future investments
  • Translate findings into concrete learnings and drive these into the organization
  • Act as sparring partner for other marketing teams in shaping their learning agenda and marketing experiments
  • Support manager/director with ad-hoc leadership team requests
  • Interact independently with senior executives and manages stakeholders across different functions to exchange information (a.o. media, CRM, ECOM, digital marketing)
  • Receives minimal guidance, is able to work independently and get things done while managing competing deadlines
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions

The Ideal Candidate:
  • University degree in Finance / Controlling / Econometrics
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in a role structuring performance measurement processes, maintaining KPI framework and measuring performance
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in performing business analyses, cost modeling and/or accounting/finance (ROI, NPV)
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills (working and structuring data)
  • Exceptional communication and constructive stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in media/fashion/FMCG/retail industry preferred
  • Familiarity with fundamentals of digital marketing is a plus
  • Expertise with MS Excel and MS Power Point
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing processes and deadlines
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and drive change
  • Highly motivated/driven/proactive approach to business needs
