As a Junior Buyer in our Women Accessories category, you're part of a high-performing team, creating new and innovative ways to connect people and fashion. You are responsible for multi-branded buying specific to Accessories and reporting to the Senior Buyer for the unit. You would be responsible for a variety of brands with the focus around sunglasses, softs and handbags. This includes brands such as Samsøe Samsøe, Ted Baker, Becksöndergaard and Jimmy Choo.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Autonomously manage your own portfolio of brands and increase performance indicators.
  • Trade brands in WHS, Hybrid and Marketplace Model.
  • Identify the best product selection for the Women Accessories brands. You demonstrate the ability to see assortment opportunities and are able to persuade your suppliers to fill these gaps. A passionate knowledge of accessory specific trends and sustainability is also required.
  • Negotiate the best terms for Zalando whilst continuing to manage daily relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Understand and own your KPIs and partner with the merchandise team to plan upfront budgets and manage the in-season OTB.
  • Communicate with confidence and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be collaborating cross functionally with marketing, content, logistics and conditions teams among other teams.
  • Proactively and independently manage small to complex issues on an operational, strategic and financial level.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 2-3 years of fashion buying experience in a head office or within an e-commerce retailer, preferably having a background within branded buying.
  • Excellent analytical skills with knowledge in MS Office (especially Excel and Powerpoint).
  • Negotiation is in your blood and you are always a compelling figure when communicating with suppliers and other stakeholders. An ability to showcase your knowledge of trends alongside facts is crucial.
  • Quick thinking with a proactive attitude and an ability to deal with change. Zalando is a fast-paced environment where versatility is valued.
  • You need to be able to work in a team as well as being very independent, this covers the immediate accessories team and also the wider teams of Zalando.
  • A passion for trends and fashion is crucial with an understanding of how this links to the markets within Europe. A pan-European view is needed for this role.
