Shopify's Growth team is focused on bringing Shopify to the world and helping entrepreneurs succeed. The Operations team within the Growth Org builds the operating system that advances Growth's vision. Our role is to make sure that Growth operates aligned and at scale to achieve the impact of giants and speed of a startup.

In your role, you will be focused on building and running the systems and processes that enable our international marketing teams to deliver Shopify to the world. This includes developing processes and practices to plan, set and report against goals, and get stuff done. These activities will play a critical role in Merchant growth. You are a self-starter that enjoys navigating ambiguity through experimentation and iteration and who knows how to solve problems that are not well defined.

You'll get to do things like:
  • Develop a deep understanding of how teams work, what's in their way and how to help them succeed.
  • Analyze trends and help teams identify opportunities and risks in our EMEA and APAC markets
  • Share insights with management to inform commercial, marketing and product strategy development
  • Work with Finance, Data Science and our Marketing teams to build forecasts and measure performance
  • Build relationships with other organizations at Shopify to raise visibility into priorities and streamline opportunities for collaboration.
  • Lead and develop the process for planning and goal setting in lockstep with company approach to international expansion
  • Develop robust rituals and systems to accelerate global teams from insight to outcome
  • Share context on what the teams are working on with the rest of Shopify, to recognize and manage project dependencies, and to always know what's shipping, by when, and for whom.
  • Collaborate with other Operations functions and leaders on resourcing, road mapping, and investment planning decisions.
  • Prioritize and lead multiple special projects as needed to drive optimal performance of the team.
  • Keep a pulse on the health of the team and surface these insights to our leadership team.


  • Experience building and managing processes to accelerate planning, decision-making and execution of cross functional teams (R&D, Marketing, and Analysis)
  • The ability to create order out of chaos by asking tough questions, producing actionable insights and making recommendations to senior leadership that are appropriate for a given context.
  • An ability to develop and iterate on minimum viable processes, and influence team behaviours to facilitate collaboration at scale without compromising on speed, trust, and flexibility.
  • Deep operations and marketing strategy experience in a high growth SaaS company or leading product-led technology organizations.
  • Knowledge of international markets and trends. You know what drives the business and what landscape we're operating in.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data including to ensure we have the right reports and tripwires in place.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to drive change at scale via indirect leadership. This includes experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail. If you don't self-identify as hyper-organized, this isn't the role for you.
  • An ability to thrive in chaos, think quickly on your feet and be resourceful to get shit done - must have a willingness to learn.
  • A strong focus on outcomes, not just action. You understand what drives the business and how marketing and technology can accelerate it.

It'd be great if you also had:
  • Experience with product management or in a Growth organization.
  • A background in performance marketing or technical data analysis is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
