A little bit about the role

When you work for us, you're more than a placement student - you join our rapidly expanding Gymshark family. We give people the tools they need to reach further, go faster and be the best version of themselves. We work hard, sure, but we have fun while we do it. Sound like you?    

The   Infrastructure Placement will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure and Tech Support Manager to learn how the organisation's computer systems are maintained and operated reliably. You will develop skills in setting up and maintaining company hardware/software, learning how to perform regular systems and security checks and monitoring. Supporting, the development and maintenance of relevant procedures and standards. You will gain an understanding of how to ensure hardware/software systems work as expected and provide technical support related to systems. 

Whilst technical skill is highly valued, being approachable and having a positive attitude is paramount as you will ultimately be working with every single individual within the business at some point.

What you'll be doing
You will gain experience in the following areas:

  • Support the maintenance of Gymshark's infrastructure across its sites, performing regular systems and security checks and monitoring
  • Support the set up and issue of MAC/Windows + iOS devices
  • Get involved in employee onboarding and training with software and hardware
  • Support on the research into new technologies to help improve business/staff productivity
  • Provide daily support for Gymshark software/hardware (including emergencies) in person/email/over phone
  • Learn how to maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers and printers
  • Learn how to administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Support AV, Security and Contactless Systems Plus
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
  • Communicate critical information to supervisors, making suggestions for how to improve where needed
  • Learn how to maintain all relevant Gymshark procedures and standards

What you'll need

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study
  • Excellent communication skills in order to quickly identify and resolve issues
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • A passion to work in a professional IT environment
  • Understanding of iOS, OSX, Window OS and Window Server
  • Keen interest in learning and growing your skillset
  • Ability to show initiative and enthusiasm for process improvements
  • Proficient in the English language 
  • Industry awareness a bonus

What happens next?

If your application is successful, you'll be invited to take part in a video screening and if successful, you'll be invited to an in person assessment day. Our assessment days will be held at Gymshark HQ, Solihull, UK at the beginning of December.

Job applications open on 11th October 2021 and close on 24th October 2021.

Placement is for 13 months from July 2022.
