Position Summary
- The ideal candidate will be exceptionally well organised with at least 2 years’ experience as a Production Manager for a contemporary or luxury fashion brand.
- Partner with founders and sales Director, in the Anual Merchandise Plan to establish the seasonal buy schedules.
- Developing manufacturing plans, critical path and strategies that meet margin, quality and delivery goals.
- Work with the Sales Director to develop and manage the production schedule to support capacity plans, reduce lead-times and minimize surcharges and excess materials.
- Day-to-day communication with factories mostly in the UK along with Europe and the Far East with the timely review of factory Work-In-Process (WIP) reports, maintaining systems and communication of WIP status.
- Ensure all Purchase Orders are entered accurately onto Zedonk.
- Actively manage supplier relationships to ensure all suppliers meet and maintain capacity, delivery, quality and margin expectations
- Ensure all suppliers have agreed terms and conditions and will accept or move towards standard payment terms
- Manage all vendor negotiations in a way that builds partnerships while resulting in the best possible prices
- Negotiate and confirm prices, quantities and delivery dates with all manufacturers in writing.
- Sourcing of new factories as well as maintaining consistent performance with existing factories.
- Drive the seasonal costing process, establish fair costing targets and manage final purchase price negotiations with factories.
- Deal with any faulty garments by requesting repair or discount where appropriate. Ensure that goods of poor quality are not sent to customers where practical.
- Obtain discounts where appropriate for late or faulty garments or fabric.
- Ensure all raw materials are delivered to the factories on time and meet expected quality standards.
- Ensure all garments are sealed in line with the critical path.
- Ensure complete and timely handover of production packs from Product Development.
- Mitigate against any delays and communicate any unavoidable delays in production to the Management team
- Conduct weekly production meetings updating the production schedule weekly to ensure all delays are communicated and resolved wherever possible.
- Carry out quality control and size sample checks on all goods with each factory.
- Conduct a seasonal audit on all raw materials and finished goods suppliers
- Experience of clothing manufacturing.
- This position will require the planning and management of seasonal garment production of orders from pattern making and sampling, through to the production and packing of the orders.
- This includes working with manufacturers and suppliers directly.
- Garment pattern cutting, construction and sampling skills are an important part of this roll.
- The position requires garment construction knowledge and use of relevant terminology when communicating with manufacturers.
Skillset
- Production & Development Manager with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at this level.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Detail oriented, team player with strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Zedonk and Excel including Pivot Tables. Knowledge of Adobe Suite is beneficial.
- Excellent knowledge of garment and product construction and luxury quality standards.
- Experience working with CMT and FF factories in the UK, Europe and Far East.
- Ability to plan, multi-task and work under pressure.
- Tenacious, assertive and determined attitude.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
