Role

The Rebag Jewelry Authentication Team is seeking a Gemologist and Fine Jewelry Authenticator looking to immerse themselves in a long-term career.  Looking for someone with solid experience and a passion for luxury branded jewelry.

As a Gemologist and Fine Jewelry Authenticator you will: 

  • Inspect fine jewelry to ensure authentication - utilizing reference guides, including Identifying, testing and authenticating fine  jewelry using REBAG methodology and tools,
  • Perform basic functions of jewelry cataloging, such as identifying material, weights, metal testing (XRF)
  • Identify and enter product attributes and specifications
  • Process returns with 24 hour turnaround time
  • Knowledge of brand identifiers, materials (i.e. material and colors) and fabrication
  • Assist in research to develop content and resources around authentication
  • Improve product condition and value through external cleaning
  • Surface or escalate all authenticity questions
  • Assist with training incoming team members
  • Participate in training, audits,  meetings and special projects as required
  • Assist with inventory 

Candidates

  • Seven to ten  years of experience in the jewelry field
  • GIA GG or equivalent Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Knowledge of jewelry history, design, manufacturing
  • Knowledge of metal marks and identification
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume production environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Data entry skills and google suite skills
  • Ability to work quickly with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Honesty, trust, and integrity—both in how you treat coworkers and clients
