This position requires a deep understanding of the role language plays in the UX design process. It also requires passion for using various forms of communication - interface content, web copy, email, in-app messages, and more - to fuel growth, educate and motivate merchants, and drive adoption of key features. You'll own projects from start to finish, and collaborate with folks from marketing, product designers, product managers, and developers.

You'll be working on things like:
  • Building the product alongside designers, product managers and developers - this includes defining feature requirements, establishing user flows and content hierarchy as well as writing and editing interface copy
  • Collaborating with marketing to communicate the benefits of Handshake to existing and potential merchants, and drive the adoption of key features via content delivered inside the product, on landing pages, emails, and more
  • Evolving editorial and voice and tone standards for Handshake across all mediums
  • Advocating for the importance of content across the team, and empowering everyone to write their own great content through training, learning resources, and other support opportunities
  • Multi-tasking across simultaneous projects and deadlines, collaborating with appropriate team members from different disciplines


Qualifications

  • Content design experience, preferably in a product-focused environment
  • Background working with cross-functional teams including marketers, product designers, and developers
  • Experience writing and structuring language to respond to audience needs
  • A portfolio of work you've done (bonus if it includes interface content or microcopy)
  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and maintain content standards across an organization
  • A foundational understanding of user-centered design techniques and how to apply them
  • Empathy and advocacy for merchants and their buyers, in all areas of our work
  • B2Bexperience is a big plus
