VEJA is currently looking for a Logistics Assistant to join our North America team.
Job based at our New York City office.
The key function of the VEJA Logistics Assistant is to act as the point person between the North American wholesale team based in New York and the logistics and production teams based in Paris.
This role will be the primary point of contact between the 3PL in New Jersey and the North America wholesale team. The position will report to the North America Wholesale Director in conjunction with the Logistics Manager based in Paris.
Role and Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day shipment workflow on SAP and in excel documents for all North America clients, inclusive of department stores, key e-commerce accounts and independent retailers.
Follow-up on all necessary details regarding the production status of orders and communicate any delays or unforeseen issues with the Wholesale Director.
Confirm all shipping requirements for wholesale customers, i.e. labeling, ASNs, etc., prior to shipping and verify on given portals.
Prepare ASNs and packing lists for wholesale customer deliveries that are not EDI compliant.
Proactively communicate with wholesale team in respect to wholesale customer shipments. Follow-up with confirmed shipping details directly to the customer.
Review customer routing guides and technology standards and ensure VEJA is compliant or obtain exemptions from requirements as necessary in conjunction with wholesale team.
Assist in resolving problems related to shipping, distribution violations and chargebacks, initiating corrective actions as needed.
Assist in logistics reporting, i.e. daily shipping based on customer delivery dates, daily inbound/receiving report, etc.
Visit the 3PL warehouse at least once a month
Commitment to the VEJA mission and vision; passionate about ethical and fair-trade fashion.
Minimum 1-2 years in a logistics role with a similar fashion company. The candidate must have a solid understanding of supply chain, logistics, operations, and warehouse communication.
Strong computer skills, in particular advanced Microsoft Excel. Experience working with ERP systems, SAP is a plus.
Strong and clear communication skills. Ability to multi-task, follow-up and problem solve in a fast-paced environment and effectively work with all members of the wholesale team.
Competent in building and developing relationships, both internally and externally.
Meticulous attention to detail and organization.
Experience working in a subsidiary office with an international company and working knowledge of French is a plus.
