JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Merchandising Strategic Initiatives will support the GMM of RTW & Footwear in leading the strategic transformation of our RTW business. They will provide project management, operations, problem-solving and analytical support on all aspects of the program and the day-to-day operations of the RTW category and eventually support additional categories and projects throughout the merchandising team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide Project Management leadership for the cross-functional initiatives to ensure alignment across all critical stakeholders and that we achieve the stated business outcomes.
  • Manage full roadmap with clear goals and timing.
  • Facilitate and execute the strategy set by leadership team.
  • Work closely with cross functional partners who will assess supplier and factory base, product assortment architecture & mix, including needs for our international businesses
  • Identify and analyze new business opportunities, outlining analytical plans, metrics, key performance indicators and risk, and helping to implement change.
  • Support the development of business plans, models, and analysis for new projects and initiatives.
  • Perform deep dive analysis to understand drivers of business.
  • Provide in-depth market and competitive insight to help inform and drive the growth agenda for the category.
  • Compile thoughtful, comprehensive industry analysis and identify key trends.
  • Develop a product creation calendar to support the evolved category strategy.
  • Partner with Creative Services team to identify opportunities and updates to Creative Content, Styling, Site Merchandising, VM to support overall RTW strategy.
  • Present research and findings to senior leadership & stakeholders.
  • Partner with functional and business leads to drive key brand strategies and initiatives.
  • Manage RTW and other various projects from start to finish, including research, analysis and assessment, recommendations and implementation.


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus.
  • Experience in retail, merchandising or consumer-facing businesses required.
  • Experience working on projects in fashion or apparel business preferred, RTW a plus.
  • Experience working within a Top Tier management consulting firm a plus.
  • Creative and strategic thinker and problem-solver.
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments and adapts easily to change.
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills.
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and have solid financial acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills including ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Able to work under pressure quickly, effectively and efficiently.
  • Able to collaborate effectively and build relationships across all functions and levels within the organization.
