As an Operating Assistant you control the operations both back and front of house that ensure superior service levels are maintained, stock is handled securely in a timely manner and fulfillment is expedited.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Fueled by the Power of Relationships
  • Partners with Business Manager and cross functional leaders on business-driving initiatives to satisfy the customer
  • Leads the customer experience initiatives within the department by holding colleagues responsible to operational excellence
  • Communicates daily on workload progress, challenges and accomplishments
  • Process any special orders or client/stock repairs to ensure care and attention to service and shortage
  • Ensure merchandise is available to sell through recovery and fill in efforts
  • Maintain stockroom and inventory control/AP standards

  • Leads all aspects of shortage control
  • Understands impact of operational control on sales and service
  • Utilizes observations and business reports to analyze and understand trends within department. Takes action in partnership with Business Manager
  • Assist in any fulfillment functions within department to satisfy the omni customer and drive business

  • Strategizes opportunities to improve upon Big Day execution
  • Communicate arrival of new receipts and educate staff on product features
  • Partner with Business Manager to assist in training, coaching, motivating and developing new associates on company policies, procedures, product knowledge, and department goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Communication Skills:
  • Able to easily engage in conversation
  • Social ease and quick response to customer needs and inquiries
  • Able to maintain composure in difficult situations
  • Detailed oriented about product knowledge
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management

Mathematical Skills:
  • Basic math functions to operate register, handle money and make change
  • Able to use a calculator

Reasoning Ability:
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a learning environment

Physical Demands:
  • Constant moving and standing
  • Able to lift 10 lbs.
  • Able to reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb ladders.

Other Skills:
  • Able to use and navigate multiple technological devices
  • Ability to sell and build a sale through conversational interaction
  • Enjoys meeting and interacting with customers; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and learn new procedures

Work Hours:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality is required.
