YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As an Associate Merchandiser/Planner for Nordstrom's Concessions based in the New York Corporate office you will play a key role within the Merchandising and Retail teams. Reporting directly to the General Merchandising Manager, you will assist in the execution of the seasonal assortments and initiatives for our Nordstrom Concession. Additionally, you will support daily Merchandising functions within the Retail channel.
The role provides fundamental support specifically in areas of Merchandising and Planning. The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Daily management of 11 Concession stores and communication with the Director of Zegna Nordstrom
  • Support and execute the seasonal buy for Nordstrom Concessions; partner with Nordstrom merchants/planners to ensure accuracy of total order and by-door allocation.
  • Own the total order process from entry thru in-store delivery; partner with Nordstrom merchants/planners, customer service and logistics to insure timely and effective execution
  • Analyze sales trends and brand opportunities compiling weekly recaps and analysis for GMM and DZM
  • Proactively and regularly highlight opportunities/risks and share findings
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to measure results for strategic initiatives (sales, promotions, new products, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain Seasonal Open to Buy Plans for concessions, by location across all categories
  • Provide team with learnings at category/store & season level to be applied to plan/buy strategy for next season. Ensure all hindsight strategies are reflected in the OTB plan/forecast and incorporated & executed into the buy
  • Plan Basic Stock Program by month by style for concessions
  • Manage end-of-season inventory sell-off with Nordstrom
  • Plan Daily breakdown of monthly budgets/forecasts by location
  • Participate in budget, forecast and inventory planning meetings with senior management, reviewing recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals
  • Develop store relationships and communicate daily with store teams in partnership with the Director, Zegna Nordstrom
  • Analyze sales trends & brand opportunities, compiling weekly recaps and analysis for GMM & DZN
  • Partner with GMM & DZN monthly to determine product consolidations to maximize sell-through; partner with Nordstrom organization to insure timely execution.
  • Manage weekly CQR replenishment

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of retail buying experience, preferably within the luxury goods industry and with a planning background
  • Bachelor Degree in related field preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel specfically creating pivot-tables, write formulas, etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required
  • Tristate travel required at times
  • Scheduling may require occasional weekend and/or evening flexibility
