About the Role

Gap Inc's Corporate Development ("Corp Dev") team is part of the Strategic Growth Office, at the forefront of driving the next chapter of our growth. At the tip of the spear, Corp Dev is part of team that drives this growth through executing strategic acquisitions / investments, managing the process to identify target companies and capabilities and monitoring and evaluating industry trends.

As a Senior Analyst in Corporate Development, you will be supporting critical projects and initiatives to advance our growth; this might include mergers, acquisitions, investments, partnerships and other strategic transactions. You will work across all aspects of the deal process including qualitative and quantitative analysis to support targeting, financial modeling, due diligence, negotiations, transition and post-merger integration. The Sr. Analyst of Corporate Development will report to the Head of Corporate Development.

What You'll Do

  • Support Gap Inc's Corporate Development team and key partners across all aspects of the deal including target identification, project assessment, and deal execution
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support pipeline development, target identification, business case modeling, due diligence, sign and close processes and integration activities; and formulate findings into executive ready deliverables
  • Support the Corp Dev team with key programmatic M&A activities: monitor and track the universe of potential strategic investments through industry landscape analysis, company profiling and pipeline management
  • Contribute to the organizing and ongoing management of Transition Service Agreements
  • Leverage financial acumen and computer skills to perform financial modelling and analysis
  • Interface with key stakeholders (internally and externally) to support projects

Who You Are

  • You are a self-starter and a team-player, motivated by the success of the process and are eager to learn
  • You have the analytical and financial tools to get up to speed quickly and are not afraid to ask the right questions to ensure you and the team understand the project at hand; demonstrated transaction experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Big 4 M&A or Transaction Advisory is helpful, but not required
  • You have experience in and familiarity with some aspects of the deal pipeline (e.g., target identification, analysis, due diligence, negotiation, sign and close activities, and/or integration / separation processes)
  • You are able to organize and translate complex ideas and dispersed information into simple, actionable recommendations with mid-level and senior audiences
  • Track record of structured and organized thinking with outstanding analytical capabilities (quantitative and qualitative) for various activities including pipeline management, market research, competitive analysis and valuation
  • You are a demonstrated critical thinker and a problem solver with strong communication and presentation skills
