Scotch & Soda is seeking an ambitious omnichannel assistant buyer with experience managing multiple categories and channels for the company's North American business. Focusing on full-price and outlet product in both e-commerce and retail channels, you will take part in assortment planning & selection, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic buying initiatives for a growing European fashion brand in North America. This role will serve as a strategic leader in helping build a country-specific assortment and advocate for the needs of the North American market to the central headquarters in Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Select and procure merchandise in conjunction with Buyer in the assigned area of responsibility
  • Provide operational support to Buyer through creation and maintenance of reports and documents
  • Analyzes business, including selling reports, to provide recommendations to the Buyer
  • Identify product opportunities by door to maximize sales
  • Partner with Planner on store requests to understand nuances of store business and react to in-season needs
  • Establish positive relationships with teams within the company to promote strong omnichannel communication and cohesiveness
  • Effectively utilize systems and programs to allow for smooth day-to-day processes
  • Maintains planned receipt flow on a consistent basis by tracking when merchandise is being received and uses judgment to make flow issue call outs to Buyer when needed
  • Evaluate competitive offerings and trend analysis




Bachelor's degree required. Experience working in retail, preferred. Candidates should be comfortable utilizing all Microsoft Office programs with an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Assistant Buying experience with a retail fashion brand


  • Strong excel skills (Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, etc)


  • Ability to work autonomously and independently build reports and other buying tools


  • Clear, concise written, verbal and presentation skills – be able to not just analyze but also tell the story behind the numbers


  • Prioritization and optimization skills needed to focus on the bigger picture to deliver results for the company's sales targets


  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional teams in both the US and Europe


  • Passion for fashion and product
