As a Head (w/m/d) Logistics Business Development - Connected Network, you can identify with Zalando's vision to become the starting point for fashion in Europe. Connected Network provides an interface between the fields of Technology and Logistics. In this function, together with your team and colleagues, you identify strategic opportunities and apply innovative solutions for our partners and customers under the Zalando platform strategy. Your main responsibility will be to build new logistics services for the Connected Network's partners in order to help them succeed on the Zalando platform.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Logistics Platform Development. You identify, evaluate, prepare and execute strategic value creation opportunities which can serve as a catalyst for the development of Connected Network. You prioritize major opportunities and challenges accordingly, and develop strategic solution recommendations for Senior Leadership.
  • Planning & strategic thinking. You support the overall strategy by driving the development of new Connected Network logistics services and initiatives - from identifying market opportunities and creating solution concepts and to implementation and iteration. You oversee & manage the progress of your projects in a structured way, present to various stakeholders and solve newly arising problems on-the-go. In order to achieve that, you will drive customer workshops, gather insights, build hypotheses and evaluate potential for new business opportunities.
  • Stakeholder management. You work closely and build up relationships with (senior) stakeholders across the Customer Fulfillment Business Unit and the wider Zalando group, as well as with external strategic partners to drive your topics forward in a collaborative manner. You will partner up with Commercial Support teams to effectively drive large strategic sales pitches and customer dialogues.
  • Analytical thinking. You follow an analytical approach to understand business needs and make data-driven decisions, while deducting clear requirements for different areas and defining measures for implementation.
  • Leadership. You will guide and grow a team of Business Developers to tell more impactful, data-driven stories for our stakeholders and look out for new ways to use customer satisfaction data to build context for our cross-functional partners and contribute to creating great customer experiences.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • University degree in the field of economics, engineering or business administration along with previous experience as a consultant in a top tier strategy consulting firm and/or in core strategic/business development role in a large corporation, preferably in the ecommerce/fashion/tech environment.
  • Great understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem, as well as of omni- and multi channel business models or platform development. Solid experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Prior experience in a product management role and/or good knowledge of product management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate your colleagues and stakeholders in order to achieve common goals. Via your strong stakeholder management skills, you are able to influence internal and external partners. Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English); you are able to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Proven project management, conceptual, strategic and analytical skills. Entrepreneurial mindset, you are proactive and action-oriented. Experience in leading cross-functional project teams, you have strong affinity for numbers and feel comfortable calculating business cases with an understanding of online business models and current industry trends.
