About the Role

The Senior Manager FP&A function is part of the Finance team, with primary business partners being Marketing leadership, department leaders, Company Planning, the Corp Finance teams, and Finance leadership.

What You'll Do


  • The Senior Manager, FP&A leads the team is responsible for monthly forecast/ close and annual budget processes for North America Marketing & Divisional/HQ expenses


  • Work with regional business partners to develop monthly forecasts that accurately predict business performance and expenses and highlight key issues for senior management


  • Influence business partners with regards to how to approach global deliverables and update regional business partners on emerging issues, brand strategies, and direction


  • Develop & present to the Finance and Executive Leadership Teams


  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of financial statements and ad-hoc requests distributed to Gap management/leadership and Corporate Finance


  • Maintain effective relationships with a variety of business partners including functional leads, and the Corporate Shared Services Center


  • Establish a track record of clear communication up, down, and across the organization


  • Evaluate current processes and tools to drive efficiencies and value-added enhancements


  • Prepare ad hoc analyses/presentations as necessary


  • Develop and manage 2 direct reports



Who You Are


  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred


  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with at least 3 years in a management roles that include leading others


  • Experience in FP&A with a retail or consumer product focus strongly preferred


  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including ability to formulate business strategy


  • Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills tailored for an executive audience


  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability and desire to learn company systems and tools and ability to perform root cause analysis


  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt work style/processes in a fast-paced environment


  • Ability to work with a large amount of detail without losing sight of the big picture


  • Ability to work with many business partners with different styles of communication


  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence others through financial analysis


  • Self-motivated, able to make quick, calculated decisions, follow through with responsibilities and be accountable for results


  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase strongly preferred
