Principal Product Manager (m/f/d) Warehouse Storage Algorithms

As a Principal Product Manager for our Warehouse Storage Algorithms, you will make sure that our 45+ million customers receive more shipments fast. You will work in a cross-functional team and with stakeholders across the company to introduce and optimize Warehouse Storage Algorithms in our Fulfillment Centers.
  • You work with 1 cross-functional team to solve complex customer and business problems. Your problem space involves managing the trade-offs between customer service levels, operational costs, inventory performance, and carrying costs
  • You act as owner of your defined area: set a clear vision for the program team, define relevant success measurements aligned with our KPI framework, and then report against and drive towards those.
  • You collaborate with other product and business leaders across Zalando to identify new product opportunities with a customer-centric mindset, propose the right ones to focus on using a portfolio approach, and then move fast to successfully discover and deliver on your ideas through innersourcing
  • You design algorithmic products together with our warehouse algorithms delivery teams and product peers in the customer fulfillment department
  • You deliver as a work package driver within an enterprise agile framework of 20 delivery teams in 8 weekly program increments. Write product requirements (EPICs, User Stories), align priorities (department roadmap, product backlog), drive actions to achieve our long-term goals and capture value
  • You contribute actively to the broader Zalando Product community by sharing learnings and best practices, and mentoring Product Managers outside of your own team
  • You foster an inclusive & diverse team environment
  • 5+ years experience as individual contributing Product Manager and 2+ years of experience in logistics service introduction
  • Demonstrated ability to create a strong product vision and translate that vision for any audience, through well-crafted written documents (e.g. Press Releases), thorough requirements, and clear stakeholder communication.
  • A master's degree in a quantitative field, such as operations research, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, economics or equivalent.
  • Knowledge in warehousing processes, storage automation technologies and a deep understanding of process optimization
  • An analytical mind, with the skills to break down complex problems and to evaluate qualitative and quantitative data along with competitive insights to derive sound product recommendations that senior executives gladly follow.
  • A growth mindset, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business conditions, working to establish a continuous improvement culture whilst providing the team the stability they need to be productive.
