Assisting the Store Director, you will be a true DSM brand ambassador, commercially minded, with a focus on driving and maximising sales and operational performance within the store. A confident and experienced manager, you will lead and develop the store teams, constantly striving for excellence. 

Key Objectives:  

  • Truly represent the DSM values and consistently seek to improve and develop yourself, the team and the store 
  • Set and maintain standards for outstanding client experience, supporting all functions in store to run smoothly for both team and clients.  
  • Drive the team to consistently deliver and achieve floor, store and individual daily, weekly & monthly targets. 
  • Lead and develop the team, focusing on performance management and personal development to drive high performing teams  
  • Maintain high levels of store standards both Back and Front of House 

 

Key Responsibilities:   

Standards  

  • Instil a culture of excellence through service in the store, through sales, development and Training 
  • Set and manage team objectives and KPIs in line with store and business non-negotiables and individual goals 
  • Support in the delivery of all store training 
  • Support in cross functional meetings to deliver all operational standards and trading needs for the store  
  • Encourage all teams to work within our company values, underpinned by My Floor, My Shop 

 

Customer Service and Sales  

  • Enable and empower the teams to provide the best levels of customer service at all times 
  • Ensure the delivery of Data Capture targets and create action plans to improve client retention and capture 
  • Support the team to deliver monthly seasonal sales targets and budgets, monitoring individual and team performance on a weekly basis to identify any support requirements  
  • Personally support the teams on the floor with a hands-on approach to clients, selling and driving sales 
  • Identify sales and service opportunities through both commercial awareness, while retaining DSM core service values.  
  • Writing daily sales reports to senior stakeholders 

 

Team Direction & Leadership 

  • Deliver and support a strong sense of community and belonging with all store teams 
  • Ensure sufficient resource across the store for all functions  
  • Focus on the Development of the team, working with HR to identify and initiate specific training needs 
  • Manage performance within the store, working with HR to drive high performance and effectively support the team to success 
  • Assist in selection process of all staff in the store; working with our HR partners to recruit top talent to the business 
  • Deliver a seamless onboarding experience for both DSM and Concessions teams  

 

Operational  

  • Responsible for the smooth opening and closing of the store.  
  • Ensure adherence to the store Health and Safety procedures and regulations supporting store safety standards.  
  • Ensure all systems, fixtures, fittings, and furniture are well maintained at all times, highlighting any issues with facilities.  
  • Deliver morning brief, sharing business, financial update on a daily basis, in a  motivational way. 

 

Stock Control  

  • Liaise with the merchandising team, Store Director and Stock team to provide a high level of standards of stock to reduce shrinkage and damage as much as possible  
  • Formally report stock Loss through the correct channels and ensure all reporting is done alongside SLA agreements  
  • Create and deliver a clear strategy for supporting the stock and security team with any stock loss 
  • Regular inspections of stock rooms, standards, and raise concerns with the relevant floor manager/Stock team 

 

Financial/Reporting  

  • Targets / Budgets – together with the Store Director, communicating Monthly/ weekly targets to the Floor Managers  
  • Regular meetings with the Store Director and Floor Managers to assess departmental performance highlighting areas of concern/success 
  • Understand and communicate brand sell through and creating actions to improve on challenging departments or brands 
  • Analyse figures to understand risk and opportunity to the business  

 

Animation and Store Events  

  • Support the smooth instillation and de rig of animations and events 
  • Provide a clear update on any Health and Safety actions where needed with the Security Manager and Special Projects  
  • Sign off all schedules for Fire Wardens and First Aiders to support in the event of an emergency 
  • Schedule teams to support with VMD across the store  
  • Provide Store Management support at all events (shared with other store management)  
  • Support with driving the success and delivery of all events.
