The Team

The Calvin Klein store design and concept team EMEA+ is a creative hub within the PVH Omnichannel organization. This department oversees the concept design for full price, shop-in-shop and outlet stores throughout the EMEA+ region. The team works in parallel with the visual merchandising, store development, supply chain and project management teams to development and execute the design of Calvin Klein stores throughout the EMEA+ region.The team environment is collaborative, inclusive, dynamic, innovative, resourceful, open and respectful.

The Position

The Concept Design Manager reports to the Director for Store Design and Concept and will work with the another Concept Design Manager and team members to realize store designs throughout the EMEA+ region. Main responsibilities will include the overseeing of the store design, concept strategy and help guide junior team members to development the store concept into workable solutions that can be executed in a variety of markets.The Concept Design Manager will collaborate with internal departments and external consultants to realize design solutions and strategy for the Calvin Klein store design.The position requires a balance between creative, commercial, technical and analytical thinking.

  • Work proactively and collaboratively as a senior part within the Store Design and Concept team for Calvin Klein EMEA+ team
  • Work closely with the Director of Store Design and other Concept Design Manager on establishing concepts, strategy and standards to ensure optimum design processes for concept, supply chain, store development and other departments
  • Oversee the creative output from the external agency that creates store layouts according the latest Calvin Klein store concept
  • Oversee design for internal teams responsible for designs and design reviews
  • Oversee a stream of store types and be accountable for the outcome
  • Work as a key part of the Concept team to guide, review and approve designs for stores, shop-in-shop and outlet projects (around 60 stores and 250 SIS projects average per year)
  • Contribute to the definition of new standards and procedures to optimize the design process
  • Effectively communicate and develop the concept strategy with the markets and relevant stakeholders internally/externally

The Ideal Candidate description
  • An excellent balance between creative, commercial, technical and analytical thinking. The ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize tasks.
  • Can work independently and direct a team to achieve desired results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must
  • In depth creative, strategic and technical knowledge of retail design, experience design and the retail environment
  • University degree in Interior Design or Architecture or related qualification
  • Minimum five to seven years' experience working for an international design agency and/or in a fashion brand environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneous requiring efficient communication, organization, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Able to direct team members and internal departments with design solutions
  • Able to manage and motivate junior team members, review their output, provide guidance and help them to develop
  • Results oriented person with a strong focus on delivering high quality output
  • Positive, enthusiastic and proactive personality to be able to handle various stakeholders across the organization and communicate successfully with stakeholders across levels and cultures
  • Experience design and visual merchandising experience is a big plus
  • Excellent understanding of different store types and tiering principles
  • Strong Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop and related software skills
