Job Title: Communications Manager

Reporting to: Global Marketing & Communications Director

Position Summary:

As Global Communications Manager you will work cross-functionally with all areas of the business to grow brand awareness and uphold the reputation of La Perla globally. In this role you will report into the Global Marketing & Communications Director and lead the function with all global press office and communication activities You will be the central connector, developer and distributor for cohesive PR brand messaging and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Communications Strategy

  • Work closely with Global Marketing & Communications Director and other areas of the marketing team and business to lead on PR strategy and calendar, covering both global requirements and local market needs, to promote and tell La Perla’s rich story
  • Collaborate closely with other areas of the business including merchandising, marketing, e-commerce and creative to proactively identify news-worthy brand milestones, campaigns and hero product that require press attention and ideate inventive ways to communicate these externally
  • Stay ahead of key industry news and updates as well as competitor activity
  • Identify new market growth opportunities for press,  which aligns with the businesses own growth and strategy
  • Oversee & feedback on direct reports plans for local market PR strategy and pitching across EMEA, US & Asia

Management & Team Leadership

  • Manage consumer and corporate PR agencies, overseeing regular catch ups & their strategy
  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports & junior members of the team to aid their learning and growth
  • Day to day management and feedback to direct reports ensuring they fulfil their duties in a timely manner with everything from press pitching strategy to the delivery and circulation of monthly PR, VIP & Social report
  • Championing team and circulating their successes internally
  • Leading Global PR & Comms team ensuring all local PR teams across, US, Asia & EMEA are aligned receiving a unified brand PR direction, assets (releases & imagery), calendars and campaigns

Media Relations

  • Liaise and meet with international press, Celebrities/VIPs, influencers and stylists building long lasting relationships for the brand with top editors and industry insiders
  • Proactively outreach to media to pitch high level news, collections, events, openings and profiles to secure widespread coverage
  • Evaluate and manage media enquiries for high level interviews and quotes on behalf of the brand and spokespeople
  • Handle any reactive high level Communications enquiries including any crisis communications management
  • Identify key publications and people of influence (VIPS, influencers, editors & industry figures) who La Perla should align
  • Foresee key moments and opportunities to engage media and find innovative ways to secure coverage

Press Experiences

  • Lead the strategy behind and oversee organisation for relevant press events and trips to ensure success

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • You have substantial and proven experience (minimum 7-8 years experience) working in the press office of a global brand or at an agency
  • You have built and maintained a strong network of relationships with high level global press and industry contacts and have exceptional knowledge of the global media landscape
  • You are an extremely well-organised and efficient self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
  • You are a strong story teller, with clear knowledge of what makes a good press story, who can give both internal & external stakeholders an insightful and inspiring overview of the brand
  • You are a proactive solutions-based problem solver, who thrives under pressure and can think on your feet
  • You have a strong team spirit - both collaborative and adaptable,  you are able to work with various functions in an exciting and fast paced global business
  • You have exceptional leadership qualities and are excited about the prospect of managing and growing junior team members
  • You have excellent command of English language, both verbal and written 
  • You have a deep knowledge of communication strategies and techniques
  • You have proven and demonstrable experience executing high level brand strategies securing top tier quality coverage
  • Additional language/s are also a bonus
